Facebook Chain Mail Senders

If you are the sort of person that litters up other people's inbox with schmaltzy poems and other crap, that ends with a line similar to 'Send this onto everyone and back to me - If I don't get it back then you're not my friend', do you get really upset if you don't get it back ?

Similarly 'If you don't forward this on then your kids will die' - Do you really want your friend's kids to die if they're a bit busy right now ?

At least in the good old days of chain letters, you had to put some effort into writing them out and posting them and possibly got a postcard from somewhere foreign at the end of it. But this stuff is so easy to send on, and so unrewarding...

Why, why, why ?

I got sent this one - try it - it's great...

WOW! Try this funny magic trick with a friend - it worked for me! If you're on your own save it for later...

It works and is like magic but only if you've got a friend partner in crime or a colleague to help!!! It really doesn't work on your own! Ask your friend to write "1.d ten t" on a piece of paper, then turn around and say "carrots" 5 times in a row, and like magic a special message will appear in front of your eyes.

I deleted my superwall because I was so annoyed with those irritating chain forwards. Is there some way of spamming people's walls, or are my friends really choosing to send me that sh*te?!

What pisses me off is when someone sends a reuest and they get an error message they click send again and you end up getting 2 requests the same. Just press go home if you get error messages.

I keep getting them, usually from people who are new to the internet, and haven't seen all this s*** a million times before. Given that they're my friends, I usually just reply with "you do realise this is b******s, don't you?", but very politely, and explain why this is the case. They don't usually send any more. But I'm always nice about it- I'm sure a few years ago I'd have fallen for it as well.

I find it hard that there are many people out there who are new to the internet these days.

Apart from the odd pre-schooler!

You'd think so... it's usually the older people, though! People my age who've only just got broadband or whatever.

I am very fond of the delete button for this such cr*p.

I can never understand why anybody forwards such sh*t - i mean, they can't believe it, surely. So what's the point??!

I honestly think the Facebook craze has peaked. A couple of months ago, everyone I knew was mad on it, on it every night, sending all sorts of stuff, joining all sorts of groups (even if they only had four members and no activity for months) and asking anyone they had ever even heard of to be their friend.
Now I seem to see very little activity amongst my 25 or so friends, apart from these bloody chain mails.
Oh, and one guy who had just 'left the group 'I Hope Ricky Hatton Gives Floyd Mayweather a F***in Good Hiding'.

The ones that REALLY piss me off are the ones that start "If someone called (instert name here) tries to add you as a friend do not accept....." then it goes on to say they'll attempt to blow your computer up or some such crap.... I just delete it.

I delete all the ones that I don't like. I think I only have two on there. (And neither are spammy chain mail crap) I've got a couple of good ones though - including one with a load of chavs in a picture. The Caption is - If Carlsberg made guns.....'

They are a load of rubbish. Have you noticed the photos of the people on them. That's the only reason they exist, cos some fella wanted to get his face round Facebook.

Agreed. I think Snopes should be the default homepage for every single internet user in the world

I've had that one from people I thought were reasonably techy.

Oh no he'll get my IP address! He'll be able to steal my children!

I am convinced the internet is actually a virus which turns 99% of humanity into idiots who laugh at pictures of cats and send each other paranoid chain mails.
