A clarification - I meant new to the channel, rather than new.

But there have been news items about them so they should appear in due course.

I think people are expecting a little too much from these channels. It's just the same Zone channels but with a couple of new shows and a new name.

Chellomedia and CBS won't change much this year but the next 2 years have big plans in store which include Freesat.

They could gain some market share if they used 16:9.

Are there many programmes showing that were made in 16:9/HD?

In the US, unless it's HD it's 4:3.

I don't know how many have been made in 16:9, but existing shows Queen of Swords and Adventure Inc were 16:9 but only shown cropped.

Did I not read that most shows were recorded in a format (film 35mm) that is a higher quality than HD.

The reason I ask is some 70's films were recently shown in HD

I'd really like to see all of The Fugitive series with David Janssen.

I've seen some of it but not all of the episodes.

Well, they've messed up Star Trek. It's zoomed in to 16:9.

If CBS is watching this board, can we have the original 4:3 restored please?

Why do the logos have to be so big and can they not be at the bottom and near the edge and why do they have to have new or premiere etc on the screen ?

I want to see the picture and listen to the sound I don't want graffiti on the screen.

How come when the ads are on we don't have this intrusive writing on the screen ?

It looks like a 4:3 frame here, but it looks wrong, Tall & Thin people, is that what you mean?

Rgds.

Les: I think you need to check your TV's aspect ratio. They are tall and thin because they've made it into anamorphic 16:9 (thus cutting off the top and bottom of the picture), so it needs to be on 16:9 for correct proportions.
