Sky Mag

I just wondered how you get sky mag, we have it but I know someone who has had Sky installed around end of July, beginning of August and they haven't had a copy of the magazine yet! How do you subscribe to it??

I would also like to know. I'm sure I heard you only get it if you are a subscriber to the premium channels?

What does it contain, anything worthwhile.

It certainly isn't a listings guide! Just a few features on new programmes and the actors involved, a bit of lifestyle and celebrity filler and LOTS of ads for mobile phones, life insurance etc.

You're missing nothing really but if you can't sleep without getting a copy give CS a call and ask how to get one. I've received it fairly regularly for years whether I'm paying for sports and films or just subscribing to a cheaper mix.

I'm on a 2 mix and unfortunately, I get it.

As has been stated above (and always has ever since they started producing it), a complete waste of paper and postage and mine also goes straight into the recycling bin without being looked at.

In the 'small print' of the terms and conditions it says that they charge for the magazine and then credit an amount against the account to cover the cost so everyone should in theory get a copy!
I always have a browse through when it arrives but could easily live without it.

Makes me laugh the ads sky put out saying they are aiming to help save the planet with the help of the WWF, i have seen these ads regularly.

Surely by junking this magazine which by all accounts, including friends with sky is a pile of junk, then that would go a long way toward saving trees and the planet to which they profess to want.

Their used to be a price on the cover (think it was about £2.50ish) when it was first introduced. I used to see letters in TV listings magazines (many years ago) asking for the magazine to be scrapped and the subscription reduced by the cost of the magazine.
Maybe why theirs no price on the cover now

The mag is alright for what it is, and by default, it's the best selling magazine in the UK, and makes a load of money from the ads it has.

The only part of the Sky mag package which was any good was the kid's mag and they have scrapped that now.

It was good when it used to be a listings guide but it is just crap these days.

It's a load of rubbish !

Not a bad read especially if left in the toilet & if you are slightly constipated Helps if you are trying to push out a misshaped log..........

Gets boring when you've read the word "Great in HD" no less than 762 times per edition.
I'm not easily lead by subliminal advertising ?

Mind you i'm taking delivery of a new SKY HD box on Saturday !

Yes it is basically a 40 page advert for the 'greatness of Sky'.
It's certainly not something I would go out and buy but I can understand why it pulls in the advertisers if it's going to several million homes every month.(With the exception of those people here who have never seen a copy......)

Its a waste of time, I think they should give us the option of subcribing to it or not,

Those who decide not to could then have their subsciption reduced by a couple of quid a month but that aint gonna happen!!

When it started it was a pretty comprehensive listings mag but it has now been revamped so many times it carries barely no listings at all.I've noticed recently it has begun to mention BBC and ITV programmes occasionally.I can't be bothered to stop it but I believe you can if you contact CS.I also get a little sports mag with it but again no listings worth having.

It normally starts to arrive about 3-6 months after you join Sky. If you have asked sky not to send you marketing materials will not receive it at all, unless you specifically ask for it.

If you'd like to make sure you get it you just need to call Sky CS and ask them to get you added to the mailing list.
