Finally, I can watch BBC.

Since I moved into this place at the beginning of October, I've not been able to get any channels properly (they kept stuttering and freezing) on Freeview.

However, having just re-tuned my HDD, I now find I can get BBC1, BBC2, BBC3 and BBC4 perfectly.

Presumably this is due to the stuff they did today, for the digital switchover.

Hopefully, when they complete it in December, all the channels will work properly.

There is a slight improvement already, in that my HDD has managed to locate Dave and Virgin 1 (which it couldn't even locate previously), albeit with the aforementioned stuttering and freezing.

Glad to hear you've got BBC finally.

Whilst I haven't personally had that problem (our communal aerial was upgraded to high gain last year, with 2 sockets for satellite & 1 DAB socket as well by Wales & West Housing Association), my best friend receives her TV signal from the Moel y Parc transmitter which switched off analogue BBC 2 a week or two ago. Since then she's had a brilliant signal on most of the BBC channels (apart from BBC News 24 for some reason), as they were choppy before and she can also get Five clear for the first time ever on Freeview!

However since the National Retune event she's lost more channels than she's gained, but as I have assured her they will all come back eventually once they've boosted the signal. Fingers crossed, eh?

Incidentally after the Winter Hill BBC2 analogue switched off on the 4th and I retuned during the day, I've noticed the signal strength has dropped slightly from the full signal before hand. I'm sure there's a reason for that.

I plugged in a STB last night, and the BBC channels are literally hitting the ends stop on the signal gauges.

It's really good to here some positive storys rather than complaints. I'm sure there must be loads of people who have retuned without any issues.

I used the "Replace Channels" option in the Initial Setup menu.
