Band of Brothers Sequel: The Pacific coming soon

This is pretty hot off the press - the trailer for the sequel to 'Band of Brothers'.

Tom Hanks and Steven Speilburg have made a follow up to the TV series (following the film) called 'The Pacific' based on US soldiers fighting the Japanese during the Second World War - this is a 10 part series.

The trailer is pretty cool

If its as well acted and scripted as the film/series then we could be in for a treat!

Unfortunately the trailer is no longer available, but I am so looking forward to this...Band of Brothers is in my top 3 series of all time.

Looking at IMDB it appears as though the BBC aren't involved in production this time, hopefully someone will pick it up and show it just after the US.

why is it that the Aussies seem to get the rights tied up for these things so quickly ? Why are we so slow at getting the rights for this ? The aussies got the US Life On Mars as well and we havnt . Why havnt we tie up the rights for the Pacific ?

It is a co-production with 7 just as Band of Brothers was a co-production with the BBC so 7 would expect to have the Australian rights from the moment they put money into it.

Shame that the BBC didnt snap up the rights to it, i believe they were involved in the making of the first series.

As I understand it the BBC had no involvement in it. Channel 7 in Australia did put money in and have the rights Down Under, Sky Movies in the UK. HBO are stressing it's not a sequel to Band of Brothers as it doesn't involve the same characters but it's the same idea, following a unit through the Pacific theatre. According to Hanks there is more of life away from the army and the clips indicate this.I might have to break the habit of a lifetime and subscribe to Sky Movies

It looks pretty good. They'll never top Band of Brothers. The casting of that was perfect.

I'm more worried about Jon Seda. Not impressed by his performances in the short lived UC Undercover.

Band of Brothers is superb.

I thought I recognised one of the blokes in the trailer. It's annoying know it all kid Tim from Jurassic Park 16 years ago

i havent checked to see if anyone is playing a cameo. would be great to get Damien Lewis back but then it would make it a bit silly.
