I watched that this morning (not got the new EPG yet) and I like the feature to highlight HD broadcasts on the simulcast channels.

Also - why is it only available until tomorrow!
This seems plain daft. It is only 8 minutes long so should be on there much longer. It is hardly taking up much space. Many people will simply miss it if it goes that fast. At first I wondered if it was just for those getting the new EPG tomorrow (if anyone!) - hence the date of the demise. Although that would make even less sense as you would need it most after the download. But it seems to be on everyones Anytime for just 24 hours...as both our Thomson 3004 (possibly due for the EPG soon as the initial subscriber box) and also our brand new Pace HD box which surely will not be getting it whilst the swapover recall is ongoing. Anyone know the thinking behind such a seemingly pointless short stay? |

Though I got the impression it might be after Easter before the next ones...though maybe that has changed. Still I had not thought of your suggestion and it makes some sense when you think it through...if only to make sure anyone tuning into Anytime over the next week (some might only check the contents once a week) do not miss this on page one. Smart thinking, batman (er, laggy)!

Generally I'm pleased with it but there is for me one huge annoyance (unless I've missed something). The number of channels on display at any one time is reduced from 10 to 6 so flicking through the channels page by page will take longer and will involve nearly twice as many key presses. What a terrible waste of HD resources - apparently sacrificing speed of access for glitzy presentation. OK it's handy to have the programme information and mini-screen for programmes you are unfamiliar with but most of the time, I'm looking for programmes I am already familiar with so then, the top half of the screen is a waste... and I'm still slowed down by the 6 channels a page thing. I hope there is an option to expand the channels per page and sacrifice the programme previews and mini screen. Otherwise, it is going to be very annoying for me. |

Unfortunately you still get the programme sound even if you do not want to hear it (eg you intend to record). No more EPG music with any option. |

Thank goodness for that! Must have missed it on the preview (unless they couldn't be bothered to mention it, which seems a bit silly).

My box is knackered atm, so I'm receiving no anytime updates. Hopefully they'll keep adding it every night, so that I'll be able to see it on my new box that I'll be getting in a couple of days.

Is there a youtube link to the video, as sky in there infinite wisdom have deemed only those with a hD subscription can view the demo.

I've lost count of the number of times I've caught my wife watching HD stuff on 106 because that's the first thing that comes up when you hit 'guide'. Unfortunately our favourites list is too full to put the HD channels on as well... |

What would be good is to be able to scroll through the channels rather than page down on the TV guide

Personally don't see what all the excitement is about - It looks like the EPG my £20 freeview box from Asda had 2 years ago.

It seems shabby that Sky can(coming soon) only do half of what others have been doing for years. My 3 year old Sagem PVR, would allow me to edit programs, why not on Sky? Having said all that, I just hope this glorious new HD EPG will fix some of the irritating issues. If not, I hope they include a cancel my subscription button in the options menu!
