Do you have reason to believe that BG is likely to be reading your advice on DS?

I love the 'aintcha' and then the fact that your post was edited for grammar.

As far as I know, the elder Geldof is a perfectly good egg. And the little one may be presumed innocent until she does anything untoward. Even Pixie is rarely accused of worse than building a career on the back of the family name. Is there another Geldof?

aIntcha is a word innit???

I think in the grand scheme of things the Geldof girls aren't as bad as some.

The oldest girl, Fifi, who has a proper job and keeps herself to herself.

I'm sick of seeing this bloke's mug everywhere, whingeing as always.

Shame he isn't quite so vociferous about his middle daughter's antics.

Given their background, I think Bob has done a pretty good job. You couldn't expect none of these girls ever to do anything remotely controversial. I defy any father to do better in the circumstances. And I think it's a bit rich to lecture Bob Geldof on the subject of charity beginning at home when he took in the orphaned child of his ex-wife and the man she left him for and brought her up as part of his own family. If that's not an example of showing charity in one's own home, I don't know what is.

Hmm she may have been orphaned but her father's family wanted very much to have her live with them and did consider fighting Bob for custody but he insisted that she shoud live with him and her sisters and they felt it would be a very long and expensive battle which they would lose Bob being Bob. I think it is good that she does live with her sisters (the ones that set a good example) but don't think she was off to the orphanage if he didn't take her in, he is a very controlling man and he usually gets what he wants!

Maybe, but 'what he wanted' in this case was clearly not for his own benefit, but for the benefit of his children and of their half-sister.

Peaches is irritating, she's a stroppy moody madam. I don't know anything about any of the others.

Bob's always been a loudmouth, he even called an album it! What with him and Paula (who was always somewhat controversial too) who could expect their kids to be anything but what they are! Fifi being the honourable exception Apparently he was quite strict when they were younger but now they are 'of age' (at least the ultra-annoying Peaches is) and living away from home, just what is he supposed to do? And Bob did a very good thing keeping Tiger with her siblings who she was used to, how would it have benefited her to be transported half way across the world with people she hardly knew? The Geldof girls might be annoying but they could be a helluva lot worse.

It always drives me mad when people shout 'where are the parents' when young adults go off the rails e.g. Britney - her Dad had to go to court to get her sorted out because she wouldn't take a blind bit of notice, cut them off etc and there was nothing the parents could do because she was an 'adult'. But she had serious problems and most parents wouldn't take their kids to court to get control, they'd be laughed out of court! Just what are these parents expected to do? Kidnap them? They'll find themselves in court! You can only try but if your kid doesn't want to know - you can only worry!!

And sometimes upbringing doesn't come into it. I've known people from lovely families go off the rails and people from really dodgy families who have turned out really decent.

I think Bob should f.e.ck off to the North Pole and take Peaches with him. Bono should go too.

True dat.
God Peaches Geldoff really needs to disappear into obscurity, or become something of an entity.

No way to know the kind of parent he is or his girlfriend is, but I do have to believe these children losing their Mother has had to cause them some serious problems.
