Yup, just watched it.

It's hokum, but well made hokum, plenty of soapie plotlines an hooks, I'll be watching again next week. If only to see how the next character gets dispatched.

It was awful. Full of cliches, bad acting, corny soundtrack and totally unoriginal.

Good for a laugh though because it takes itself so seriously.

Noticed some actors for Supernatural and the production crew were too, prob down to being on the same channel.

I can see the potential with this so ill stick with it for a few more episodes.

I thought it was allright, hooked me in just enough to want to see the next episode.

There so many characters to introduce though, that I got a bit confused who everyone was. But I suppose that will get easier when they all start dying.

My hunch says that the killer is either bride or groom. (Most likely groom) Next to die one of the friends of the bride.

It's actually a Canadian show, picked up by a US network, filmed in B.C like so many american shows are. That's why everyone looks familiar.

That little girl is creepy though. Roasting that poor little snail.

No idea who dunnit just yet (of course), but I wonder if they'll go down the route of it being someone we though was already dead?

It was more different than I thought it would be. I wasn't expecting it to be so soapie, as people have already stated. I'll probably watch until the end though. Hopefully it improves, although it wasn't terrible.

I thought it was terrible throughout... but I'm a bit disturbed by the fact that I watched it all the way through, which seems to contradict my opinion!

Firstly, I was surprised by the level of grue it contained. Not because I'm closeted at all (the more gruesome, the better, AFAIAC). But it's really not like CBS to be so liberal with gore.

Of course, that's discounting the fact that the USA has it all backwards when compared to Europe and would sooner televise a dismembered head than a nipple.

Still... it was clumsy. Far too many characters were introduced in too short a time, and I found myself caring about a sum total of one (they did make Abby sympathetic, at least).

I was surprised that Uncle Marty was the first victim. I was SURE it was going to be bland British guy. My money says he's dead within three episodes.

Yeah, so, overall, I'm surprised I watched the entire thing. It passed quite quickly. I'll check it out again, but it'd better introduce some less hackneyed dialogue (exposition much?) and pull out some interesting character developments instead of relying entirely on plot. Otherwise, I'm done.

In any case, I give CBS a month, tops, before this is history. It has cancellation written all over its ass.

The dialogue was pretty much all exposition. "You're my brother, of course I'm happy you're here. You and Uncle Marty are the only family I have left"....."I can't believe my little sister's getting married"...so on.

So it's basically a tv drama version of Survivor.

Harper's Island: Panama.

I have to say that I agree with you. It's had a mid-season startup, so it's not like CBS has anything better to replace it with.

I mean, c'mon, FFS, CBS' most ratings-grabbing show, outside of the CSI franchise, is THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE. Which is frankly abysmal.

I'll be so bold as to say that I'll give HARPER'S ISLAND until the end of its first season. If it thins the crowd of uninteresting mannequins, and throws in a bit of extra back story re. Abby and Henry, then I'm willing to give it more of a shot.

Finally got round to watching episode 1.

Like most I wasn't expecting it to be so soapie. I thought it would be more of a thriller-horror feel to it.

Full of cliches and the likes, but interesting enough to get me to watch episode 2 which airs in the US in a couple of hours.

I quite liked the people who got killed this week, especially Kelly...

I could tell they were bluffing with that English guy, and that he wouldnt die this week. Anyway, I enjoyed that episode moreso than the first one, so I will continue to watch the rest of the season now.

Not sure about this at all. Tis a bit to soapy. Will probably stick with it out of curiousity.

The final death last night was pretty horrible.

Yeah, I know. I guessed that little dog would lead her to her death.

Just watched episode 2 and have to say IM enjoying this. Its a bit silly but fun to watch, in a Scream type of way.

Word of warning however to those who still havent watched episode 2-
At the end of the episode, and before the end credits roll, they show a preview. Thing is they preview not the next episode, but what seems to be the rest of the series. They even show part of smoe future deaths and loads more that you really dont wanna see. I cant believe they spoilered the series in that way at the end of episode 2!

These glowing reviews have convinced me to not bother with it.

Which is good, because I have a lot of unopened DVD boxsets to watch.

Oddly I'm quite enjoying it. It's never going to be the best programme, but it's harmless and a bit of fun I think.

I do like a lot of the cast which probably makes it seem a little better than it is.

Like some of the above have said, it's nonsense but it's enjoyable and watchable nonsense. Plus it does have an above average cast, especially like seeing Katie Cassidy and the guy who playes Bobby from Supernatural. I'll definitely be sticking around for more
