Keith Skues Appreciation Society

I thought I would set up this thread for people to leave comments about a wonderful broadcaster who has been "spinning discs" since 1959, a true professional and simply put a really nice guy to talk to

Any nasty comments will be notified to the moderators

He won't like being described as such but he is "a national treasure", if ever there was one.

Nasty comments? I am not even sure the guy has any enemies. I worked with Keith in the early 70's at the BBC. Nice guy, great voice and very knowledgeable

I know Rodney Keith is loved by all, hence the reason behind this thread
but as Eric Clapton once said "There's One In Every Crowd"

I don't know of anyone who has had a bad experience working with Keith ,I worked with him for a short period and our changeovers were always a pleasure .An absolute gentleman .

Bit of a contradiction. Seems strange that you'd need the rider in the OP if he's 'loved by all'.

Can someone tell me what all this cardboard shoes thing is about. I can't think of any relevence to radio, so it seems a strange nickname to carry through a radio career.

Yes, I enjoy old bumbling "Cardboard Shoes" on the radio--we need a few more like him as well. He does a lot for charity as well out of his own pocket, which he keeps quiet...Always a pleasure to hear......I hope he stays on-air for a few more years yet, and doesnt retire........

Keith's one a very small group of people, a Radio Caroline presenter whose on-air surname can't also be a first name.

John
