I thought it wa s a good choice, something that was always on the radio in 1989 when she was pregnant and something with words that Ronnie can relate to

So the wrong choice of song. Not emotional at all, i burst out laughing instead. The aftermath is a pathetic. The writers have not yet proven it was a better choice to kill Danielle off. Really worried about EE with these jokers in charge.

I liked the song when it came out, but come on its a cheesy song to sing at a funeral.

The words were relevant, but the song is just too cheesy to take seriously.

It made me laugh, which possibly wasn't there intention but shit, how often do we get the chance to have a laugh with Eastenders? Take it while you can I say.

Yeah i agree.. the lyrics were definately relevant to how she felt.. but the song itself is just too cheesy to take seriously imo When she first started singing 'If i could turn back time' i was bit like and started to laugh a bit.. but then when she got more into it it became very emotional.. so yeah i'd say the song choice was alright overall.

I like the song, cheesy is ok, at the right time, but this was not the right time at all, not at a funeral.

it's not as if she sung it in the actual funeral, she sung it alone at the graveside because it was the only song that linked them to each other

the car hitting danielle made some laugh as it was so unrealistic. what are ee doing, they cant do funny, yet they get people laughing at the one thing they shouldnt be laughing at.

It was fine. You can sing what you like and if that was the song in Ronnies head from the radio then so be it.

I think some people are missing the point here. The song is irrelevant it's abount the lyrics and what it meant to how Ronnie was feeling. Noone could care less about who sang it. The point is that Ronnie clearly wasn't in a good mental state and was slowly cracking up. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next episode.

No it won't. There will be some lip service to Danielle. Ronnie won't be able to grieve because she doesn't know how as she never knew the person she is missing, so she will drink...just as we have seen over the last few months. Then it will be forgotten.

it wasnt a good song at all imo they would have been better with something else, its not got the right reaction yet again, this time ee made people laugh, when they should cry. I think there is more to a song than the words, although they are important, the style and mood of the song are important.

It wasn't a funeral song as such.

I got a wry smile when she started singing and had expected Hushabye mountain BUT bizarrely I had said to my mum turn back time's lyrics says it all - then when she started singing we turned in shock to each other. She didnt believe me I didnt know!

I think while cheesy it worked in context and it was around at the time 1989. I actually like the song, and it jarred making it even more heartbreaking - it showed that while Ronnie was her mother she would never get the chance to be her mum. No place for lullabyes, it made me think of the 14 year old Ronnie- confused and emotional giving up her baby, turning into the woman we see. Not knowing what to do or sing, singing what she felt was most appropriate

The Song choice was genius with the "take back the words that hurt you" and "reach the stars" aw seriously just so tear jerking and a fitting way to say goodbye to dannielle and this storyline take a bow eastenders take a bow!

I think they pick the song because it came out on the month of her birth and the year of her birth

I agree the song is a crap song but in way is does suite what Ronnie or anyone else in her shoes would be thinking

I dont see how it made anyone laugh?! I wasnt prepared for her to sing that song I thought it was going to be Hushaby Mountain but I think they made the right choice. The lyrics are spot on, it sums up how Ronnie feels perfectly, combine that with how Sam sung it, for me at least it was a really emotional scene. It wasnt cheesy at all in my eyes, in fact it properly made me cry.
