This Morning Biased Soap Coverage!! - Soaps

Why do this morning talk endlessly about corrie whenever sharon marshall is on it?? Emmerdale, EE and Hollyoaks get hardly anthing said about them yet we get a near enough indetail synopsis of every episode of Corrie coming up in the week!! Hollyoaks gets treated the worst out of the bunch sometimes they run out of time because they've gone about corrie so much that we dont even see a clip for Hollyoaks!! It really really annoyes me!! Tina Baker used to do the same on GMTV!!

Maybe it's the soap Phil and Fern watch? So to keep them interested Sharon talks about it the most.

If it was biased because of ITV though, surely Emmerdale would get a great deal of coverage too.

They always start first with Corrie to like it is the biggest out of all the soaps yet it hasn't won best soap at the soap awards for 2 years - will most likely be 3 this year and at the NTA's for 4years - clearly ee is the more popular out of the soap followed by corrie and then hollyoaks and then emmerdale- maybe they should portray it to who's officialy best soap rather than pushing corrie down our throats because ITV think it is the best tv programme in england!!

Emmerdale is more popular than Hollyoaks! It gets at least 4 million viewers more a night!

It's like when that Paul Ross is on all he talks about is ITV shows,

This Morning always talk about corrie and emmerdale more, EE gets talks about a bit but Hollyoaks is the worst on that soap watch on this morning hardly ever gets a look in.

I don't bother with This Morning's soap gossip because more often then not most of the spoilers have been posted on here anyway, and normally before Sharon Marshall has it for her soap scoop.

Hollyoaks is the least popular soap so naturally will receive the least coverage. It would be unfair to expect it to get equal consideration as the other soaps when it's viewership is infinitely inferior.

As for the Corrie bias, it's an ITV soap. But (I don't watch This Morning much it has to be said) whenever I've seen Sharon on I do think EE has got a fair amount of coverage - it's never seemed paltry to me.

ITV1 are obviously going to promote their own soaps more.

But EastEnders is allways going to be a better soap than Coronation Street it's the soap that it talked about a lot.

Emmerdale should get better coverage than Emmerdale though as it's better than Corrie by a mile.

EE does get fair coverage. I think it just depends on the storylines for the week tbh. When there are big storylines in EE then Sharon does usually devote a fair amount of time to it- it's just swings and roundabouts really. I do agree that today's round up was rather Corrie biased though but I'm sure in future weeks other soaps will take centre stage.
