Oh well, that was quite a quick turn around then for TUTV. Just a temp filler til they start their new channel.

Excellent, so it looks like the new ESPN channel and premier league footy is coming to TUTV.

It's just become a basic channel (as part of the News and Events mix) on Sky.

On Virgin Media it costs £10 extra per month.

I have just tuned in and found it on air as well. Encrypted. I think it might be testing as the picture is glitching a lot!

Espn

Hi All

As you've noticed, ESPN America is now being shown on channel 34.

It is encrypted, and is being provided free to anyone who previously subscribed to Setanta, through any provider. It will also be shown to Top Up TV customers who subscribe to TV Favourites or Picturebox.

If you aren't a subscriber but would like to see the channel whilst it's available for free, then you can do so by calling Top Up TV and asking to subscribe to ESPN. You will need to have a viewing card, and will also need to provide name and address details to set up an account, but you won't be required to give any payment details.

Cheers
Sam

Edit: maybe I should have provided the phone number: 08444 159 159. I would also suggest waiting until tomorrow to do this, as we have done this very quickly and our agents are only just being briefed about this also.

Further edit: sorry, I should also have said that you don't need a TUTV DTR to do this - you can sign up for this channel if you have a set top box or a CAM.

Is that part of the deal they have struck with Sky?

I can view it on Sky just not on Freeview.

Excellent work TUTV !! Hopefully I'll be enjoying my Saturday Tea time Premiership football for years to come !!

I'm guessing that this is a positive sign that ESPN will be taking Setantas place.

Wonder what other sports that means ? UFC, Tennis, Golf, NASCAR ?

Wonder what the price will be when the channel launches ?

Text from TUTV's website

"In a positive move, ESPN, another sports channel, has bought the exclusive rights to the 46 Live Barclays Premier League matches in the 2009-10 Season that were previously to have been shown by Setanta Sports. Top Up TV are currently working with a view to bring you this channel as soon as possible which will be the destination for ESPN 's Premier League coverage next season. If you 're interested in finding out more about the ESPN service, register your details by clicking here now and we 'll be in touch shortly via email with the latest updates."

I was about to get in touch with my bank and cancel my direct debit to Setanta. Shall I still do this? Will I eventually receive new info as to whom I should pay to receive ESPN? If I cancel my Setanta direct debit will it stop me from receiving ESPN currently or is the present service free until further notice?

If you cancel, you won't be able to watch ESPN

TUTV site says that unused Setanta subs will be credited against future billings and/or refunded, depending on the type of subscription. Nothing further to be taken for the time being and a link for those interested in finding out more about ESPN in due course.
