Dexter Season 4 (US Pace) (Spoilers MUST be in tags)

Hi all,

My reason for starting this thread is the Season 4 trailer that's come out today:

http://spoilertv.blogspot.com/2009/0...4-trailer.html

That trailer has seriously got me in the mood for more Dexter... This year's looking good from what I can see here and I have a suspicion that
spoiler:
John Lithgow
is going to put in a star turn He already seems incredibly menacing from that trailer. I'm also glad to see
spoiler:
Lundy
again, it'll be interesting to see if they'll be picking up on him and Deb again. For that matter, is Deb still going to be with Anton? Whatever the case, it's just two short months till Season 4 begins and I can't wait

Trinity Killer looks like a very interesting storyline, doubly so because of the choice of actor to play him. Looking forward to this new season a lot.

Excellent trailer. Thanks for posting that up.

Can't wait to see this. Dexter is the most consistently high quality programme on TV at the moment imho, and as Jon above says, the idea of John Lithgow as his nemesis is a tremendous proposition.

Pity we have to wait until FX show it over here. Does anyone know when that could be?

I don't know whether FX wait so long because of some clause in their deal for the show or because it's preferable scheduling for them, but based on the wait for Season 3 I'd hazard a guess of sometime in May 2010...

I pay for FX, but I'm just not that patient.

The trailer has definitely whetted my appetite, thanks for posting.

Interesting that they're not even attempting to hide the identity of the killer this time around. I guess they figure that because they've cast a pretty well known actor, people would figure it out pretty quickly anyway.

Looking forward to having
spoiler:
Lundy
back too.

The new season looks awesome though.

My understanding is that the issue is due to ITV's rights to the show.

FX shows it first, then they have a repeat of the season immediately after it finishes. ITV then shows it after that and the DVD is released once ITV has shown the season in full.

FX is then able to show the next season.

This year the DVD was released quite quickly after the ITV showing, so FX were able to start the season earlier.

Ever wished there was a Dexter video game? Well wish no more!

http://spoilertv.blogspot.com/2009/0...e-trailer.html

I was sitting there thinking "these graphics are absolutely abysmal". Then I saw the format it's on and thought "wow, those graphics are pretty damn impressive!"

No surprises here. Showtime, have again accidentally aired the opening episode.

Someone has managed to cap it and I am currently downloading it

When I saw this thread bumped, I knew exactly what had happened. Thanks for the heads up.

EDIT: Though, upon investigation, I'm not coming across it in the usual places. You sure it's for real?

EDIT again: Nm, it's showing up in places now.

Awesome opening episode.

spoiler:
Loved the rehash of the opening credits part way through, and knew it wasn't going to go well with sleep deprived Dex. The ending was though!! I take it there are still bin bags with bits of the guy he killed in the back of his car (or rather all over the road) Harsh!!

So glad to see it back even though i was a little dismayed at not seeing Angel's girlfriend because they split up. i hope that conversation wasn't just to draw a line under it and that she back soon cos she's a hottie

With any luck we'll get a few more pre-airs out soon (i think with S3 there were 3 more out pretty quickly after the first) and can't wait to see how this unfolds with DM feeling the pressure!

The place I usually get it from only a a few seeds so probably going to have to wait til after it is shown.
Is the one thats leaked going to be exactly the same as the one thats shown or could changes be made to it?

I'm just hoping the same thing happens with Californication too, like it did last year

As for the first episode?
spoiler:
I had a suspicion Batista and LaGuerta were going to get it on after I read that they were both getting new love interests. John Lithgow was brilliant, so dark! It will surely be a superb scene should he and Dexter end up crossing paths- which, let's face it, is inevitable!!

I think this might be the best premiere Dexter's ever had. This is looking like Season 1/Doakes levels of good.

That was really, really good. But then, Dexter always is

spoiler:
I didn't expect the Angel/Laguerta thing but the way Masouka kept getting in the way in the elevator was hilarious, as was the "what a bloodbath" line I'm liking the impact that baby Harrison is having on the show, it's freshening up the formula a bit (not that it was stale or anything, but you know what i mean), i especially like the "Daddy kills people..." bit. It's just gutting that we will now have to wait until late September for the next episode! I think the previous poster is wrong about 3 episodes getting leaked last year, it was only the premiere last year whereas Season 2 had eps 1-3 leaked.

How exactly does this show keep getting leaked every year? Is it a sort of "official" leak by Showtime in order to drum up interest for the new season? The fact that it seems to happen every year means it's either this or Showtime have the worst security ever.

My thoughts exactly, esp with the way it ended

I think this originated on the Showtime website, so it isn't really a leak. Normally the 1st episode of a Dexter run sets the scene for the season - this one was no different.

The John Lithgow character looks very interesting!

I thought it was brilliant.

spoiler:
Lithgow's character looks an absolute psycho, far more crazy than anyone ever on it before. The baby angle brings a new feel to the show, I feared that the show would be too repetitive in the fourth series but the baby makes sure it isn't. God I love Dexter!

spoiler:
Did Dexter have the Gomez(?) body in his car when he crashed?

Sets up the season brilliantly, I suppose it depends on how he comes out of the crash, they could just brush it off as he escapes fairly much unscathed or he could be in a bad way.

The John Lithgow character looks like being great.

and the returning Lundy throws a spanner in the works with Deb, and then Angel/LaGuerta hooking up.

Deb looking like finding out about Laura Moser. OMG the writers really know what they're doing

We're certainly supposed to THINK he did. He'd been to the all night pharmacy already though, I cant believe Dex would have done that before getting rid of the body.
