Seems a fair few like her & are fans (I'm one!!)

She does Five News at 7 principally, having come in originally as cover for Ms Kaplinsky, but it's a news prog with cr@p ratings, up against the One Show & Channel 4 News amongst others.

Is she destined for bigger things, or has she reached her limit on Five?

Sure I read Five News at 7 was due to be canned anyway, will she merely return to reporting, or could she take a different direction into mainstream TV - she has a quirky sense of humour & seems very chatty.

(Could she even follow the lady many say she looks/sounds like - namely Kirsty Young?)

Whatever Isla will be up to it won't be at Five News as she is going to be leaving when Five News at 7 is scrapped, so unlikely she will be doing Five & Friends.

Just to add here that there was a story in the local press yesterday relating to Isla, in which she mentioned several "exciting" projects that are in the pipeline. Also this may involve her in more "investigative" reporting (rather than anchoring news, although she also said she would like to continue to anchor news for a few more years).

Guess she thinks she may be pensioned off from newsreading when she's older, a la Moira Stuart & Selina!!

Wonder what's next for her?

Actually I thought she did well on CH5 and is a far more engaging newsreader than Spangles.

Spotted a nice new interview with Isla today in the newspaper. Apparently achieved the highest ever ratings for Five News at 7 (if that means much!!

) before she left, but still coy about what she is doing next...if indeed she has anything lined up. I get the impression she didn't leave of her own accord.

Ms Traquair was STUNNING at Scottish BAFTA awards 2009, from pics I saw. Back on mainstrm TV soon. Can't wait!!!
