Dreamland

There's an image on the updated BBC Who homepage of the Doctor and the TARDIS from "Dreamland" - the animation style is nothing like The Infinite Quest - but I keep getting an error when I click on it!

Well it looks a bit desert-y....

Dreamland is one of the nicknames of Area 51....

....located in the NEVADA DESERT!!

EDIT: Just looked at the banner at the top of the blog page... something appears to be streaking across the sky

Dreamland is to be shown on BBC HD

HD SCHEDULE

"As well as the Doctor Who specials, we'll be showing the animation series Dreamland, and the next Sarah Jane Adventures, and younger viewers may also appreciate the arrival of Shaun the Sheep and new Justin Fletcher (aka Mr Tumble) series, Gigglebiz, which is a bit like Little Britain for under 6s."

Since when did 6 year olds start caring about having a HD quality picture?
I never saw a 'HD Ready' sticker on Tinky Winky....

Aww kids appreciate bright vibrant colour even more than adults imo.Thats striking me about the pic from the final dub -loving the vibrant colour .

Agree though don't think kiddies would comment on the quality -they would just enjoy .

Production Update (11/09/09)
Will R - Online Host | 09:45 UK time, Friday, 11 September 2009

Morning! I got in this morning to find a brief (but we think exciting!) update from one of Dreamland's senior producers:

"An incredibly busy week. And we've just recieved the storyboards for Episode 6! Storyboards are like your very own Doctor Who comic - all drawn by hand, they are the first attempt to visualise and describe the action from the script. But they aren't just a bit of fun - they show the proposed camera angles and staging of the shots that will be in the final animation - so we need to make sure that every single frame is absolutely perfect."

Just to confirm that we'll be showing you many of the storyboards in the weeks ahead.

Another lovely update -some concept art coming up this week

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/doctorwho...landanimation/
Production Update: "This week's main event..."

Paul C - Online Host | 18:10 UK time, Monday, 14 September 2009

Hi, I caught up with one of Dreamland's senior producers earlier today and nagged him for the low down on what was happening this week! He sent me this...

"This week's main event is that we're going up to the studio to catch up with the team and also do some filming with the animators (which we'll show later). We've received a lot of content in the last week so there's tons to go through - storyboards, 3D animatics etc for different episodes at different stages of production. So there's never a dull moment!"

We're also hoping to show some concept art on the blog this week so stay tuned!
