I know It's sad. I've got a bootcamp video (which includes their audition) on DailyMotion if anyone is interested.

X Factor hopefuls John & Edward have said that they do not mind being portrayed as villains on the programme.

The Dublin-born brothers were booed by the crowd on Saturday's boot camp show after they sang over office worker Sian Paley during their joint audition.

Paley complained to the judges that they had ruined her chances of progressing, but the panel decided to axe her and keep the boys in the competition.

"We went on and everybody knew their words and then we went on and it all got mixed up," the duo admitted.

"I think we were portrayed as the villains, but we don't mind that. When we were up there and everyone was booing, we didn't mind. Now we that know that they're not our friends.

"They felt they were in a competition and they were just going to boo. We cheered for everyone else, whether they were bad or good, we were thinking of even making a banner, but I'm glad we didn't."

The brothers, who have made the Final 24 of the competition, were branded "obnoxious" by Simon Cowell after their first audition.
I don't think what happened at bootcamp was entirely their fault. After they sung their first lines, one of the girls from Miss Fitz lifted their mic up and J+E looked at her and then nobody sang and J+E just covered up for it. I don't think they meant to sing over Sian either, I just think the whole bootcamp performance was a mess and it's unfair that everyone is just blaming the twins.

[QUOTEThey're not as arrogant as they appear on the show believe me. They're intelligent, they know that by having that gimmick of being annoying twins that they would get through. Notice another pair of twins on the first auditions who didn't get through, because they looked really nervous and sang nervously. Grimes were nervous, but they didn't show it.[/quote]

Interesting.

I wouldn't say I was a fan, but I'm definitely warming to the twins. I don't think they're nearly as objectionable as they've been made out to be. In fact last night they came over as endearingly vulnerable and actually not very confident at all. I'd love to see them on the live shows as I think they'd really grow as singers and performers and it would be fascinating to watch.

I agree - unfortunately some people still think they're arrogant because of the "would love to date Xtina" comment which was clearly tongue in cheek. Can't please everyone I guess.

Glad you're warming to them, though.

Since when has having a male fantasy been "arrogant" I wonder. If that's the case, "arrogant" must cover most of the male population. (Actually, on reflection ... )

J & E have the potential for a good run in this show, I think people will warm to them as the competition goes on.
