In fact it made me think about Jeni coming back. A lovely lady but always out of sync with the script and gawd knows everything else. Likewise I feel exhausted, 'accosted' more like after listening to her.
My light bulb moment with Petrie came today. She sounded really relaxed and one could tell from the messages she was getting that listeners out there were feeling it too. She was clearly having a blast with the show and so was the rest of London.

Sing hosanna...this could be the answer ! Hah.

Oh! I was going to reply to a couple of posts but we've been cut off in mid discussion. How rude!

I've clicked on 'closed' where the reply box normally is, hope this accesses continuation of the thread or part 8. Is anyone out there? I expect dcpc's recording of 'Steve', Steve', 'Steve', to cut in somewhere, so help me! Please....no.

I think he is like Marmite, you either love him or hate him. I do note, however that most who say they don't like him still listen to his show which seems very odd.
I find myself listening out of a sense of morbid curiosity these days. The worse he gets the more compelled i feel to tune in and i even take the DAB portable in the car so that i can continue to listen on the way to work.

It's almost reassuring to listen to, because like the teenager audience in Fossy's review of High School Musical i know all the words already and can join in.

Reminds me of a "Comedy Playhouse" i saw many years ago entitled " Clap Hands For The Walking Dead" where an old-clapped-out comedian got huge audiences precisely BECAUSE he was so rubbish and a bit of a freak show. I feel SA might just be starting to slither down that slippery slope

When he was off sick recently, Cristo in that slot was a breath of fresh air. I enjoyed his exchanges with the Dodgster because unlike Steve, Cristo let Alan get a few words in edgeways and actually complete some sentences without being jumped on or put down.

I saw Dodgster in a different light that day. I can't wait for the last week in September if Steve is taking a break.

Mad idea, i know, and i'm sure it'll never happen, but i'd like to hear Jenni in that spot just to see how it went!

Seriously, Michael. Are you on drugs? "I saw Dodgster in a different light?" Expand. Are you saying the Sillies are perhaps...not so silly?

Someone get Wolfie.

The only "Colombian" i'm on is the Kirkland filter coffee that i got from Costco - unless i got one of the dodgy shipments!

The point was, until that morning with Cristo all i knew of Dodgster was his annoying "yelp" and his joining in with Steve's annoying singing forcing me to hit the off-button. I'd never heard him give an opinion properly without Steve cutting him off somehow.

Cristo allowed Alan to develop some points without let or hinderance and i was amazed. He did actually make some fair points which i found myself i agreement with and thinking "maybe this guy ain't so stupid after all!"

I think maybe Alan is only a Sillie because Vallen makes him silly. It always sounds like Steve is out to show him who's top dog rather than having an "equal" cobversation with him.

Apologies Michael, you were far too quick for me!

What Jeni @ 5am! The men in white coats would carry us off....if listeners/victims hadn't reached for the off switch in time!!!
Only remotely possible if issued with a government health warning beforehand.
