Talksport Chat (part 2)

Today's 'Bowtime' show is being more than a little irresponsible in my opinion. Now we all know that Adrian Durham is the biggest wind-up merchant on radio but in light of what's just happened at Upton Park should he & Alvin Martin really be championing the idea of Rangers & Celtic merging themselves into 'Glasgow United' with a view to being given a berth in the Premiership?

Of course its a nonsensical idea designed to get the switchboard lighting up with angry calls from Scottish listeners but its an inflammatory topic that perhaps would have best been avoided this week. I guess its a case of the 'Shock Jock' attempting to shock Jocks!

PS On a lighter note did anyone hear the handover between Brazil/Irani and Parry/Townsend a couple of days ago when Mike Parry announced that (TV doctor) Hilary Jones was going to be a guest on their show? Ronnie Irani made some 'laddish' comment about sticking around for that (clearly implying that Dr Hilary might be a babe) without realising that he was actually a bloke!

I think the clock is ticking ever faster for Mr Irani.
It would not surprise me if Porky knew that Ronnie had no idea and lured him in

Let me the first to say to dear Moz,

GET RID OF IRANI......even a trained monkey would have improved his radio technique quicker than the idiot.

Not been in here for a short while as I've been in hospital, what's with the "Talksport Chat (part 2)" gig? have we filled the old one up lol.

Anyway off to read some of the posts to see what I've missed, I suppose Ron's still there then and Al banging on about the old Ipswich Town days of 1983 with Warky, Gatesy, Beatsy & Butch.

"the legend " has gone mate.I read on here somewhere that he is going to do an early evening show on channel 5.
Goughy is his replacement a vast improvement,he doesnt say "you know what i mean"every five minutes.

I'm so glad Wrighty has left, i found i couldn't listen to the show when he was on. I enjoyed yesterday's show with Alvin Martin as co-presenter, as Durham seemed to improve with somebody sensible as his partner, but, today's show was poor, as it was such an obvious good cop bad cop setup which Darren Gough didn't have the knowledge to run with effectively.

Hope you are better Billy,

You have not missed much. Irani is trying to be a bit sensible - he fears the axe.

Durham is slightly better now that we have lost the 'legend'.

Mike Parry continues to demonstrate his ignorance when asked to discuss current affairs and Townsend doesnt really add alot beyond his knowledge of football.

What a mistake giving them the 10-1 slot. Luckily Saggers and Quinn do a good weekend show but I miss that guy from Virgin Radio.

So, no , not much has changed.

Hope you are feeling better Billy.

Really wish I could say that Irani has been given the boot but he hasn’t but there is an odd atmosphere in the breakfast studio. Has Alan had enough too? Time will tell......Irani is still being increasingly nasty to the Moose and highlighting any error/slight miss information as much as he can.

Better news is that Hawksbee and Jacobs are back and I have managed to miss Cundy’s irritating smug voice for a week.

Well I came in here and mentioned that I'd been in hospital just so you'd know why I'd been missing and I was so happily surprised this morning by your good wishes. Thank you you wonderful people for your kind comments it means a lot to know you lot are real people out there and not just imaginary cyber people lol. I had, (have) a perforated stomach ulcer that is now under treatment, I left it too long before seeking any medical advice and in the end was rushed in by ambulance where I stayed for just under a week.

I'm on the mend and now look forward to further contributing to the debates in here with you all, thank you again.

Spot on !
Never mind Irani, Cundy or Goldstein. Gould is worse than them all put together.

Previously I have 're-tuned' after about five minutes of taking as much of Gaunt as possible but Gould is straight forward off-button for me with his hysterical cackling. He will be an even bigger non hit than Irani I can feel it coming.

A bigger non hit than Ronnie Irani?, blimey he's gonna have his work cut out there is old Gouldy. Ron's got the undisputed version of the heavyweight title belt for being useless at that station and I can't imagine anyone taking it off him, although I have to admit some of them are giving him a good run.

Depends on how much air time he gets. If TS have got any sense it won't be much. Put him on Breakfast or Bowtime every day for six months and it won't be long before someone posts 'Come back Ronni / Wrighty. All is forgiven'. I know it's hard to imagine but 'Knobby' Gould really does have the 'talent' to be worse.

Surely Irani is worse because he clocks up more hours?

You all know I rate Ronnie Irani about as good as a chocolate fireguard but the thing is he doesn't seem to bother me anymore. I think it's because I've got through the pain barrier listening to him and come out the other side. It's now obvious they're not going to remove him so I have just learnt to live with it, to be perfectly honest Alan Brazil annoys me these days more than Irani. I bet Brazil can be a nasty so and so when he wants to be, it slips out from time to time when he's dealing with the fool Abrahams, I reckon it wouldn't take much to upset the ex Gorbals boy when he's had a few in some bar.

Ok thanks. He didnt get sacked did he? wouldnt be surprised with the talksport bosses. I guess Goughy will have to do then. I only listen because of adrian durham anyway, he is a top presenter and knows how to wind up the listeners and in my opinion talks some sense

I know Quinny has his knockers in here and even Saggers has been accused of being boring by some but I kinda like them ya know. When you consider some of the other pairings at the station these two are bloody good, I know Quinn's totally biased in his views and I can understand a few people holding that against him because he shouldn't come across like that but overall I'm happy with what they put out at weekends and am glad Dee has finally got something right.

Ray Houghton is a t***.

Playing football does not make you an expert on football. That is why Gazza doesnt present Match of the day.
