Ruth Lorenzo Appreciation Thread (part 2)

Ruth was amazing in Cardiff last night.

She literally came straight from the airport onto stage, she was running a little late and the crowd were all chanting her name. She was certainly a very popular act, no time for chatting between songs sadly, got the impression the stage was only licensed til midnight so she just had half an hour.

She sang:
Run
Ironic
Knocking on Heaven's Door
Always
I love Rock n Roll
Highway to Hell
Purple rain

Yeah, that's true. Will miss the anticipation for Saturday during the week, watching the video diaries, guessing what songs she'll be singing and all that (won't miss the freaking out about the results shows though ).
But that's replaced with the anticipation for her album, messages on twitter, videos from gigs... so it's still good times haha

Hey Jenny!
Ruth did a few interviews when she was over in Spain before her gig. First album is planned for March 2010 which we knew already, and she hopes to release a Spanish album later in the same year (I think?). Bon Jovi have also sent her songs apparently!

Pages 1864-1866 of Part 1 is full of stuff - the interviews, gig reports, pics and videos. Definitely watch the videos from the La Torre gig if you haven't seen them already! They're amazing!

Could have let us get to the next big "milestone". Not that it really matters that much but ah well...

Very odd article in the Daily Mail. The bit about people of a different nationality entering the UK X Factor...

And last night it was revealed that another contestant, Iranian singer Behrouz Ghaemi, also auditioned after watching the show on YouTube.

He was allowed to appear because he is studying music at University College London.

Last year, X Factor producers were heavily criticised for allowing Spanish singer Ruth Lorenzo to perform.
Does anyone recall this? I don't

Nor me. When did any of these reality programmes exclude people. Xfactor, Big Brother, even Britain's got talent.

I do remember a few comments on places like the X Factor website saying things like "OMFG she nt even brittish she shudnt b there!!1". Sadly expected, but I'd hardly describe that as "heavily criticised".

Do they get paid by the word, the people that write these articles? Just make up any old crap to pad it out.

HEy, i've just came in here to say that i'm a big Ruth fan. Her and Alex were definitely my faves in last year's XF.

Anyway, i think it's sad people have a problem with international contestants entering XF. I think it gives the show some diversity and shows how popular this show is?

Isn't it the Daily Mail who support the BNP?

She's more interested in talking to the camera than where she's going!

Hi! And I don't think I've seen you on here before so "welcome" too

The Sun is an even worse offender than the Daily Fail. They (mainly Gordon Smart) seem to have taken a dislike to her - starting the rumours about Alex and Ruth falling out, and even managing to turn the story of her signing a record deal into a negative article

Of course it's what we, the fans, think that counts, but it's still frustrating to read stuff like that and see some people believing it when we've followed Ruth since the beginning and know what a nice person she is.

Sorry, felt like a rant

Part 3 is here. Ruth isn't in it in person but is that her on the cover of a magazine/newspaper at the start?

What does it say? 'Sinfin'? I'm trying to google it but no luck so far.

And a new video message from Ruth in Cardiff - answering questions from the fans

"sin fin" is "without end", but I dunno. Can't find anything either.
