Ballroom Bill (Part 15)

Well Sian & Bill haven't even started to give Chris a hard time about the whole Strictly thing yet so I'd be very surprised if they didn't dedicate at least five minutes to laughing at the poor guy.

Eeee! Just over 11 hours! I take it you saw Bill's last Twitter update? "Looking forward to the return of the wonderful Sian Williams on Monday ..."

I go away for a while and the thread moves into a new chapter.

"Programme wife" back today (Sian's words not mine).

Lovely to see them back together.

Excellent result for WW

That was funny

Only saw a little bit this morning; not as much slagging of Chris as I would have hoped for. Tango and rumba first- I have a bad feeling they may not have been the best dances for Chris- just a hunch

Saw the 0610 and 0640- was mentioned briefly first time and Chris said something about crying but no real slagging then

It's precisely because I don't want to- a waltz might have been better for him to start with. Can't see him being fiery or having the "passionate face" for the tango and lets not even start with the rumba face I think his personality would be better for the more fluffy waltz stuff, but he'll give it a good shot.

I think Rhumba difficult dance for anyone so do feel sorry for Chris having to do that for one of his first dances. Mind you is it better he gets it out of the way early on when judges more forgiving

Anyhow he fell in triaing yesterday which Bil thought was funny

It is but some of the actors might have better expressions- sorry it's just I've got this awful feeling it could be a bit cringy and while I'm no expert on dance Ola has a habit of sometimes coming up with dances that can be a tad Unless he gets mauled by the judges and therefore gets a huge public vote

I bet he did

I'm hoping he's got a big enough following from Breakfast that he gets through the first week anyway, regardless of having two difficult dances to do. Why have they started them off with those? Wouldn't a waltz have been a better ballroom to start off with?

I'm really looking forward to seeing him strut his stuff though. And the slagging from Bill is great!

I hope his support is good too and that he lasts a long time. Wonder if Ola got to choose between the dances or the show?

It's worth him staying in alone just for the slagging

I'm usually on GMR thread but always read hers.

Was indeed good to have Bill and Sian back together. They are so relaxed and funny.

Mark Church, who does the commentating on the Surrey games for Radio London, says he will be voting for Chris, but I do think Chris has a raw deal starting with those two dances.

Hi Dayglo (and FT also)

It's as if Sian was never away

If he can get past that first weekend then who knows but a waltz/ cha cha cha might have been better, but who knows?

I've had internet connection problems, but can't work out how that could have cut our thread back

LOL...a good way of expressing pleasure at being back at work. Great to have the dream team back

Early days the slagging is gonna get better as the weeks go by.

Please Chris, don't pull a romantic rumba face or I'll have to hide behind a cushion.

Before 7am they said it was 5 years ago- they alluded to it a few times but never said what about. Ruby said she didn't remember. She was extremely obnoxious, well she is Ruby, and seemed to be trying to wind Bill up and he just laughed at her basically. she said she had his number, but never used it; he said he didn't have hers. She clearly couldn't stand the sight of him

Am I in the right place?

I can't recognise any of it. Away for a week and the forum's mutated into The Thing with extra tentacles....appreciation threads for people who haven't got down the stairs yet on week 1.

They could be crap. It'd be very funny if Joe who everybody's pinning hopes on it seems is, after all the hype. Another JS that Kristina has to lug around the floor. Can't wait. I shall snort if so.

Don't all faint on me but Amanda Patatell actually wrote something vaguely positive on the Studmuffin. She may have been sloshed. She was also kind on Kelly. It's tragic when memory loss hits at that age. Being a woman journo she MUST have been bitchy in the past.

Somebody at the Beeb must have it in for Chris. The two worst possible dances to start with. Bye Chris.

Wonderful to see the dream team back, aside from them being so good together, is that the prog has a much better flow.

But I missed the slagging. Sure there'll be more. First opportunity Bill has had to get his own back.

Nice to see Force, to see you nice...nice to see some of the old regulars back with us.
