JACK Tweed was arrested this morning over an allegation that he and a pal carried out an appalling sex attack on a teenage girl. The 19-year-old claimed that 22-year-old Jade Goody's widower and events promoter Ashley Rubin put her through a degrading ordeal at Tweed's East London home early today.

After leaving the rented house in upmarket Repton Park she immediately went to a local police station and reported the alleged incident.

At least a dozen police officers swooped on Tweed's luxury bachelor pad at around 7am.

Tweed is thought to have been asleep when officers arrived and arrested him and Rubin, in his early 20s.

They were taken to an East London police station where they are still being held for questioning.

The girl is understood to have met Tweed and a group of his friends at a nightclub and then went back to his home.

She claims Tweed and Rubin then carried out a serious sexual assault on her in a bedroom.

Police were today conducting a thorough search of the address.

The girl, meanwhile, was taken to a rape counselling suite and gently questioned by a specially trained female officer.

A Met spokesman said: "A female in her late teens has made an allegation of sexual assault. "The alleged incident occurred in the Redbridge area in the early hours of this morning. "Two men in their 20s have been arrested in connection with inquiry and remain in custody at an East London police station."

The complaint is being investigated by CID officers at Redbridge.

However, the inquiry is likely to be handed over to the Met's Operation Sapphire specialist sex crimes unit.
Be interesting to see how this pans out....

I wish they would only name them once a trial begins, as he could be released without charge.

You have to question what girl would go to his home after the press coverage he's had of late.

Why does it take "at least a dozen police officers" to arrest a couple of blokes

No wonder there is a police shortage for what are classed as "less serious" crimes like burglary

Probably with the alleged "victim" selling her story to a redtop and posing in her underwear as she recounts her ordeal.

As much as I don't like Tweed, I can't help but think this is some wannabe glamour moddle looking to make a few quid.

I'll try my hardest not to come across as a tired bitter old biddy, but not only do I question her judgement to go to this guys home, but was she really raped?

Playing devils advocate here. She goes to tweeds home, had a drink maybe some blow, get's a little carried away, leaves and then feels a "little used" and decides to report them. She could also be looking for money and publicity.

Possibly but whatever, I really think they need to keep the accused's name/s out of the papers. The accuser is afforded anonymity, so why not the accused? In some cases when women cry rape or sexual assault, it's not even true, and then the man gets his name dragged through the mud. Until and unless the accused is found guilty, they deserve to have their names kept out of the media.

My sentiments too. I wonder if they were at Faces in Gants Hill?
