New viewing card problem

They posted a new card two weeks ago, and because I hadn't recieved it after a week I assumed it got lost so called sky and they reverted the signal back to my old card. The card came through the post today and according to sky it has been cancelled and a new one will be posted when the next batch is issued.

Are they definately going to send a replacement even though their signal has told my old card to continue working?

When is the next batch supposed to be sent out?

Yes, they will but not until everyone else has had theirs replaced and they run on a pre-prepared region by region, postcode by postcode set-up in conjunction with the Royal Mail. Sky will run a mop up session and pick up every one of us that has had problems and re-issue them then.

Obviously OP wants information that us mere mortals could not possibly posess.

I keep getting a sign flash up to replace my card with the new one. They haven't even sent me one.

What are they changing them for anyway?

Reading this thread was the first I even knew about the replacements.

They are contractually obliged to chnage them every five years.

It's been advertised on screen since April, when the card change started.

For the first 24 hours after I put the new card in I lost all the radio channels apart from BBC Radio and about 25% of the satellite channels including many FTA. But the following day it seemed to correct itself. Bit of a nuisance though as my wife couldn't get her daily fix of QVC (but at least i saved some money)

Thanks Nigel.

I saw the first prompt only last week. I will phone Sky to see why they have not sent my card yet.

I have to phone them anyway to cancel Sky Sports. The US Open tennis is finished now.

Have you received it yet? I've started getting the message come up again. When will it come through?

The message is sent to the box as the new card is posted out

In my case ,with my multiroom boxes only a few days passed before the new card arrived after the messages appeared

If you don't contact them after a period of the message appearing but the card not arriving then eventually you will be without certain TV channels as the blue card will be turned off
