House Series 6 (FOX Pace) (Spoilers In Tags Please)

Seeing the new series airs on Fox on 21st September and I am sure loads of you will get to see it before Sky gets their hands on it

The catbox wonders:

Will House become more outrageous in his ever growing relationship with Cuddy?

Will Cameron & Chase get it together?

Me too, for two reasons: one, the ISP police; and two, S5 really disappointed me, so House isn't the essential viewing it once was.

Well it starts on SKY One on the 4th October.

I do watch at US pace anyway.

Cameron already did that. But no one knew but House.

spoiler:
Will Chase find out and as he is religious be upset. He is asked to do it and refuses, so this could cause problems.

spoiler:
House gets it on with a female patient. Follows her home and finds she is married with children.

spoiler:
House will be moving in with Wilson when released.

Fact is some people have already seen the two hour opener. Preview cd was sent out to tv reviewers and seems to have gone further a field. Or they have told all online it seems.

Oh and
spoiler:
the PI from beginning of season 5 is back for a episode or two.

The two-hour season premiere of House has been getting some very positive reviews. Below are five of them from different paper(s)/magazine(s). Plus, I've added a couple of interviews for you if you are interested. Enjoy!

BTW, I tried to use the tinyurl thingy but for some reason it wouldn't work for me. Sorry.

Close, but not quite.

spoiler:

House gets it on with the sister-in-law of a co-patient while in the mental facility. He knows she's married, and he goes to her house when he finds out that she's moving.

I liked the first episode. I think it really set up the rest of the season.

At the end of the episode they showed a "this season on House" promo.

spoiler:

Looks as though House really has changed, but there's still tension as he tries to practice without a license. Plus it looks like Foreman fires 13.

House fans beware...

Episode 1 is VERY different. It may be a little bit of a shock to many.

At a few points its a bit of what my gran used to call "schmoopy" (meaning overly sentimental, "aw shucks", foolgood, etc), which is an odd thing for House to be. However, the production values and writing overall make it work anyway.

spoiler:
Certainly its going to be interesting to see how they write House overall this season. He has to have backed off being such a jerk a bit to make this episode pay off, but at the same time its his core character trait to be a jerk, so it can't completely go away.

The other main issue the episode played with was House's "god complex". Not sure it came to a definite conclusion there either, since his god complex panned out into a miracle cure by the end (actually TWO cures).

I was up at 6.30am watching it.

Totally loved it. Yes very different even from the opening music.

spoiler:
I did read it was a patient but no a visitor instead.

spoiler:
The House rapping was a blast.

I really wanted to hate it but it was amazing. Totally unlike the usual format but it paid off really really well.I think it needed a boost to give it a fresh edge after season 5 and to tie up all the loose ends.

I found myself crying at bits and I really liked the German girl from Bourne Identity, for some reason she worked really well.

Ok, I gave in and watched it US pace. Yeah, not bad. Was in serious danger of getting silly and/or schmaltzy in places, but it got reined in.

I really liked House/Lydia (Hydia?! ), and the way House and Nolan ended up bonding. It'd be cool if those relationships came back later on.

That was amazing. It was so unlike House yet easily one of my favourite House episodes ever.

Unlike a few of you, I never got the overly sentimental vibe. On the contrary, I thought it was so well written that moments that could have come across as that, didn't. It's a testament to the writing that even though we spent only 2 hours with them, the supporting characters at the institution were so endearing and likeable.

I loved the hug with his roommate at the end then Hugh Laurie, most likely ad-libbed, clearly grabbed the actor's ass.

That was superb, not overly sentimental in any way but perfectly balanced.

The best episode of anything I have watched in a long time

Firstly, there was no need to spoiler-quote that bit as it was in the show and anyone in this thread should have already seen it.

Secondly, I actually thought that was the worst bit. Each to their own I spose!

Overall though, I loved this double-ep opener to the new season. I was quite surprised that he would be out of Mayview so soon (I thought it'd take at least 3 or 4 eps for the plot to move on for him to be released), but the way it was done was excellent and I'm looking forward to how he now adjusts.

According to what I've read, House has been a resident of Mayview for 3 to 4 months. I don't think extended episodes of his mini breakthrough would be necessary. One would get the general idea.

As for the lite rapping scene, I thought that is was cute.

But it said spoilers in tags so I just did. On the season 5 thread people where getting upset about the spoilers.

No way could they do 3 or 4 episodes at Mayfield. The viewers will want to know what is happening by at PPB. So unless the writers have the rest of the cast wandering up to visit throughout the episode wouldn't work.

Episode 3
spoiler:
Has James Earl Jones as a patient. So they need House there the give opinions.

I really enjoyed the the first episode, I really wanted to see the next episode there and then. I thought he would be in the asylum for a while this season, but I'm glad they wrapped it up in one epi.

The Rap was hilarious! fantastic ending to a great episode!! Cant wait till the gang sees the New HOUSE! I've heard some great things are to come

The UK still can't use "Teardrop"

Can I ask for spoilers to be kept in tags and not to be put on the UK pace thread which is listed elsewhere, o we dont upset people

Thanks

Yeah, I think its going to be beyond interesting especially because I think it could actually hit Wilson hard that House isn't going to be depending on him as much, a couple of snippits:

spoiler:
House and Wilson go to cookery classes- there is a picture I can't seem to find with them wearing aprons

Foreman tries to take over House Job

Someone gets fired in the first three eps meaning this weeks or next I guess

Really liked the episode, but someone (on another forum, I think) made a criticism that was too valid to ignore.

The whole point House was in Mayview was because he was so messed up that he literally couldn't discern reality from his hallucinations. Not only was he seeing Amber, a dead woman, but he thought things were happening that just weren't.

So, for them to never even delve into what caused his hallucinations/delusions (I suppose the events of the finale were a delusion -- someone correct me if I'm wrong) was kind of annoying.

They just stopped, and we were given no explanation why. The warden guy even said ( I think) that House had been popping pills for years, so what the hell? If he had a legitimate mental illness, then what the hell? I'm so confused. Will he have to take the anti-psych meds forever now?

I agree that spoilers should be tagged, but what you said wasn't a spoiler; it was a comment about the episode that had already aired at FOX Pace and this is a FOX Pace thread, not a UK Pace one. In this thread a spoiler would be information about episodes that haven't even been aired on FOX yet.

OK so no spoilers unless talking of episodes unaired yet.

The warren did say to House that his mental breakdown could have been the pills. But you lost two people and your father died as well. He said you have been taking the pills for years. So House is now on different pain pills but also pills for the mental problems. He detoxed and the visions delusions went. Therefore it must have been the pills and the fact he felt guilty and was taking more and more of them.

But will he fall back into his old habits after a few months out.

Correct.

You tagged a few comments of yours before you watched it, which is good! I was merely explaining that the particular comment about the House rap wasn't a spoiler as it was after you'd watched it (and was already available to everyone who should be reading this thread), so didn't require spoiler-tagging.

I'm pretty sure you understand, but believe me, some people have a hard time understanding this. For a laugh, read the Pace? thread. There's a particular poster in there that hadn't a clue, despite being told several times.

I don't know for sure, but I imagine that's still the case. However, that's irrelevant to the opening music here as this is on FOX, where Teardrop's always been used.

I would think/hope Teardrop will return for ep2.
