Fringe Season 2 [US Pace] [Spoilers MUST be in tags!]

I don't want to come across as arrogant and as if I think I give the orders, but for clarity I think it would be best if what constitutes a spoiler in this thread was defined from the word go:

Any information pertaining to episodes not yet aired.
Any information garnered from the promo/trailer for the following episode.

As such, only discussion about episodes that have aired on the Fox network in the US and speculation/conjecture! That way, there's no risk of anybody being spoilt unnecessarily!

Anyway, Season 2 starts tonight! This show really started heating up towards the end of the first season despite the two massive gaps between installments! I'm really intrigued to see what direction they're going to take the show now, especially given the limitless boundaries of the show's premise and based upon what we've discovered thus far. I just hope they don't screw it all up.

Can't wait!

I'm 'acquiring' this at the moment - set it to download before I came to work.

Really looking forward to watching it. That last scene in the season 1 finale absolutely blew my mind.

I have a feeling that season 1 was just setting the scene while season 2 is going to be much more 'arc-heavy'.

Tremendous season opener imo, looks like we will be fed drips and drabs of what happened to Olivia when she met Bell, also after intense debate about where she left this dimension(either the car or the lift),we found out it was indeed the car crash, liked the new female agent as well but a bit gutted about Charlie.

I was never a fan of Charlie, I'm going to enjoy this unravel, I dont see it running all season, he wasn't a major character, I see this being wrapped up by episode 7.

I really enjoyed Olivia being thrown from the car, made me jump I like how she cant remember, looks like we are going to be getting flashbacks, boy does JJ. like his flashbacks

I love how they are making Peter's childhood so prominant, I see Walters secret coming out to maybe Olivia, this season, when she goes to the other world and learns how peter is missing or something?? so much room for great storylines!!!

what could she know that the soldier need to know?

I love this show!!

So the body in the basement is that of the real Nurse. The shapeshifter must have hid it down there when he killed her. That means it won't have bullets from the the female FBI agent's gun in it's back. I wonder if the autopsy findings will reveal this to anyone. If the female FBI agent reads it, it should make her think why no ballistic report links it to her gun. All agents primary weapons ballistic charactaristics should be on file and there will be an investigation when an agent fires his/her gun.

Good stuff

I did initially wonder whether they introduced the new FBI woman as a replacement for Olivia.

I wonder if she'll join the team permanently? With the Bible stuff at the end, looks like maybe she's seeing the various "Pattern" events as things out of Revelations or something?

Guessed the ending, but it was still good.

When they all ran to find "Charlie" standing there, I kept thinking "check his mouth, check his mouth!!". How long will he last though, as surely Olivia will eventually notice something's up as he (presumably) won't have Charlie's memories or anything.

Did anyone notice the reference in the Senate hearing to the previous "X classification" also costing loads of money before the Fringe Division? Little X Files reference maybe?

X Files episode was playing on the TV in the guys appartment when we saw the first shapeshifting incident.
Really enjoyed it. Glad the Fringe Division is back on our screens. Couldn't wait for Sky to start showing it- had to see if we were right about the non-car crash at the end of Season 1. I will be watching Sky 1 HD from now on though.

I watched the entire first season and while I liked some things I was not convinced that I'd love the show.

IMO it all just gelled and got very interesting.

An interdimensional shape shifting visitor just tried to kill the leading actress. Because the writers spent the first season educating us about the Fringe Division and William Bell and everything else it doesn't sound stupid to all of us who stuck with it. A very clever creation from all involved and one of the few shows on TV at the moment that I really look foreward to.

I'm still getting over the revelation about Peter from last season! LOL that shows how much it got to me. Whilst watching this ep I kept hearing Walters voice talking about how he lost something... It was so powerful. This show is amazing.

I thought it was a great first ep, Last season I thought it was losing its way a little but that first ep was direct and I think peter will play a bigger part in this season.

Bring on ep 2 !!

I loved it. I like the new FBI agent, by the end of the episode it felt like she was always there for me. Not too fussed on Charlie, I liked him in that episode last season when he got bit but since then not been fussed on him. Does anyone know who many episodes he's contracted for?

Loved this episode. It had a dynamic start, was good in the middle and had a tremendous end. I don't mind Charlie being killed off and, inevitably, the actor leaving the show (when, who knows, but he will) because Kirk Acevado seemed to make his own bed with the Facebook outburst so it's hard to feel sympathy for him. He's also not a particularly sympathetic character. He had that one good episode that's already been mentioned but I'd care WAY more if they killed off the main characters, Astrid, even Olivia's sister and daughter. The hot new FBI chick's more than great as a replacement.

However, one thing I did notice. Peter appeared to pick up the plug/box thing that the shapeshifter used. If Peter took the box, how did the shapeshifter take Charlie's form after killing him? I guess that means that:

1. The shapeshifter can change form by another method
2. The shapeshifter had another magic transformation box
3. Broyle's gave him the box that Peter gave him in the last few minutes
4. There's a second shapeshifter who helped the first one out and perhaps even posed as Broyles to retrieve the box from Peter.

There's certainly some twists. There's probably an easy explanation to the above problem though, I don't often stumble upon things like that.

Loved the episode. A very good return for Fringe. Extremely interesting about them killing off Charlie like that. I never found him to be a particularly good character but he probably will be now. Also love the new FBI agent - hope she joins full time.

I just thought that when Nursie dropped down from the vents and Charlie started shooting at her, between that and Peter & whatsherface arriving, Nursie managed to used the machine on Charlie and then hide Charlie's body.

It's clear that he's after the weird device that they dug up in the last season, no doubt Bell told Olivia where it could be found.

Was there a baldy man appearance in this episode? I didn't catch him!

Pretty sure he was hurredly leaving a building in the opening sequence. TBH I forgot to look out for him; suppose I'll have to watch it again! Tsk. What a shame!

I did notice that Walter now appears to have an upright freezer full of ice cream; I'm thinking
spoiler:
maybe he has or is in the process of introducing something into the food chain via dairy products (custard, Gene...?).
