Stargate Universe Tue 6 Oct, 8pm Sky One/Sky One HD [UK PACE/NO SPOILERS]

Really looking forward to this. Have to admit it took me awhile to get into the Stargate World having been an ardent Trekkie but loved Atlantis and have a good vibe this will be a good'un.

Now the next thing will be the MMO but who knows when that will be

Really looking forward to seeing Bobby Carlyle in this and hoping it brings a freshness to the SG world.

I am very envious, I would love to go back in time and start watching them again for the first time.

Season 3 onwards only gets better and better

Hope they don't censor it to fit the 8pm slot like they did with the last series of Atlantis. If they do cut bits out then looks like US pace for me.

I'm really envious of everyone that gets to see this - I only have Freeview I buy the Stargate magazine so will be able to find out everything that happens in it but it's not the same as watching it. I'll just have to wait for the DVDs *sigh*

They normally release the DVD's soon after the final episode of that series don't they? Not much comfort I know. Have the other two been shown on terrestrial TV?

No i believe the producers are saying you can watch even if you are a newbie,of course there might be the odd reference you wont get but i think you should be ok.

Has this shown already been on in the States and Canada or are Sky showing it near to their transmission date and therefore we will get held up by the mid season break?

I am not sure but I think Sky are showing it close to the US Transmission dates as they do with most US shows.

I'm looking forward to this, as it seems a bit darker than Atlantis, which I am fastly becoming bored of on Sky2 at the moment. And Robert Carlyle is excellent in everything he does of course.

Yeah, for years I watched SG-1 on Channel 4, then in 2003 after years of going on at her for ages to get it, my mum got Sky TV so I was able to watch it and the first two seasons of Atlantis on Sky One. But just as Season 10 of SG-1 and Season 3 of Atlantis were starting on it, she decided to cancel the Sky subscription as it ended up being too dear for her. So I had to say bye to two of my fave TV shows As a result, I STILL haven't seen Seasons 3, 4 and 5 of Atlantis and Season 10 (plus the TV movies) of SG-1. And now I won't be able to see Universe on TV either.

So...DVDs are really the only option for me, as I'm not that keen on digital download versions.

(Keep an eye out for Dr Beckett's Scottish Lass on this topic, I'm fed up with this username so I'm going to make a new account and use it instead )

Just saw a teaser trailer on sky one with Robert Carlisle saying it gave him the same feeling as his part in bond "it's that good".

Do any old stargate characters return or is it an entirely new cast?

What about the story. Is it set in space or at the SGC.

From what I understand, SGU will feature Amanda Tapping and others as guest stars linking to previous SG franchises.

Wiki will give you more info than I can type here.
