Fringe Season 2 - Sky 1 pace

OK let's get the thread up and running for Sunday! Oh yes Fringe is back better than ever!

Yeah, so Olivia's now finally tracked down the elusive William Bell, CEO of Massive Dynamic, who's hanging out in an alternate New York where the twin towers still stand. HWat next?!

The show went from some silly little mysteries into the exciting prospect of a dimension war. It's shown itself to be a much smarter series than it first appeared.

Really looking forward to it, saw the promo on Sky1 last night, new season looks great. Love the way each episode is full of hidden things in the background to look out for.

Still 6 episodes of the last series to watch before then. That'll be me nicely refreshed and up to date.

Can't wait.

I haven't seen any of the first series. Does that mean I'm going to be completely confused?

Yes. Watch season 1 first I would strongly recommend.

The first series was one of the best new shows I've seen.

Amazed it wasn't a bigger hit in the UK, hopefully word has spread ready for series 2.

Can't wait

Yeah, I think people thought it was going to be a second rate Lost. The pilot was a bit disappointing too which didn't help. But it picked up. It probably could have done with an early terrestrial run like Lost and Prison Break had and Flashforward is getting.

Well today's the day!! Don't forget folks it's on at 10pm after House!! Plus there's the half hour 'Access all Areas' behind the scenes programme following after it. Do the Americans get the follow up show?

Edit: Bleeding h*ll! Sky announcer just gave a massive spoiler about what happens today!

I just finished s1. Overall I like it, but it has its weaknesses. Even the last few episodes had a monster of the week feel. The science is atrocious. The banter between Peter and Walter is annoying, and Walter on his own is annoying. It's frustrating that so many other people know more than Olivia, including Walter, her boss, and Nina Sharps.

On the positive side, the pacing is better than Lost (or X-Files). They do at least reuse their bits of science sometimes. I've discovered when watching other shows that I really missed Astrid.

I've been watching the Sky 1 repeats of the first season. Once the overall story got going, I thought it was great.

Brilliant ending!

Really looking forward to the new series tonight.

I feel you've got to like Walter to like the series. His craziness is what stops it being a humdrum detective series. The pseudo science is confusing as well. It's the sort of stuff that's the staple of the paranormal conspiracy buffs. But I've always felt that this series should be a bit better than it is.

Very wise! Looks like the producers have kept their promise and the focus will now be on the enemy. Was pretty low key opener but I really wasn't expecting that ending!!

I thought the opening ep was fab - lived up to my expectations without actually giving anything away! Peter seems much more active already, rather than the passive observer. Is he the 'hidden' thing I wonder? He is certainly a key of some kind judging by the Greek Olivia came out with when she woke. I knew Charlie had become the shape shifter when they cut away at the moment of shooting.I thought they might drag out the is he/isn't he for a few episodes - glad they didn't. He was my least favourite recurring characterlast season - but he's suddenly become much more interesting. The new agent looks interesting - clearly on some religious/Bible type mission herself. Loved all the Peter/Walter banter - Walter is as wonderous a character as ever. The whole show still looks great - awesome production values despite the budget cuts. I only wish we'd had a double episode to start the season - I want more episodes now!

For those of us who predicted that the near car crash scene at the end of season 1 was very important take a bow.

This also proved that olivia was in the alternative reality when she tried to contact nina at the end of season 1 hence why nina was not in the country.

I could never understand why some people thought she was still in the normal reality when she was in the hotel, the writers gave us enough clues.

Well it's suspected by many that Walter stole Peter from the other dimension to replace his son who died. Often Walter talks about things in Peter's childhood which Peter can't recall. The theft might have triggered the dimensional conflict.

But why is William Bell in another dimension? And what did he tell her? Great stuff?

Well some people thought the car accident was a double bluff and nothing had happened of significance. I thought she had jumped but people rubbished it. The whole idea of the truck jump was to prepare us for the car jump.

Just watched access all areas. Implied there is only one other dimension in the show. Walter and Peter both start to remember more - double memories it said??!!!
