'Waiting for Chryed to Get It On' - EE Christian and Syed (Part 2)

Do I get the general impression that you all think one of them will say the big I love you next week. Interesting.

spoiler:
I suppose Syed may say it first properly as when he says he wants to be with Christian but only within his flat and won't give up Amira, I am sure Christian wouldn't take that unless maybe he does say it. Also Christian pretty much said it last week when he declared "you can have me" and put his hand on his heart.

Part 2! That was... quick.

I have absolutely no idea. I think saying it to a person who won't (can't?) break confidentiality is completely different to saying it to the person who you have the feelings for. So, I don't know.

Christian's been in love with Syed for a while, I think.

Oh Christian has definitely been in love with Syed for quite some time, certainly since the engagement or even before.

With Syed, I know he is in love with Christian but it has taken him longer to realise or admit it to himself and it is only now that that is happening. He has always been in denial to a certain extent for example when they first slept together saying "nothing happened" to then rushing to get engaged after the second time and trying to run from his true feelings all along. But now, with James around, he has finally had to face up to how he really feels and his world is crashing down around him big time.

'Got'cha' 'yeah, you have'... the look on Christian's face, for me, is love. And the look on his face when Syed walks in the caf after they sleep together... *sigh*.

Syed seems pretty in love with him in the 'Superman' scene. He's just much more reluctant to admit it to himself, while Christian wears his heart on his sleeve, which is probably why it gets broken so often! 'Denial' is pretty much Syed's default setting, so I think it's a bump back to earth not to be able to go back to pretending. His feelings are too deep for pretending they don't exist now, which James's appearance make him realise.

Wow, new thread already! All this Chryed talk is making me want to rewatch all their scenes. One thing I can't remember is how did Christian and Syed go from their awkward first meeting 'Christian. Muslim' *weird look* to being friendly? I can't seem to find the scene in between.
I feel like a bit of a rubbish Chryedian now!

Agree completely.
Syed has spent most of his life denying his sexuality and nust be finding it hard to admit his true feelings . Christian however is very relaxed in his sexuality and finds it easier to express emotion

They... didn't. There were no scenes between that and them being friends. I think we're supposed to fill in the blanks, as usual- they worked together in close quarters for months and got friendly.

I think the more he tries to supress his desires and his feelings, the stronger they get. You know how it works- the more you know you shouldn't want something, the more you do. This is why he had four one-night-stands- trying to supress all the homosexual urges/thoughts and just boiling over with frustration.

Have you ever been to Stratford because it is fantastic there. The best place to see shakespeare performed.

this is why i think christain should try to be a bit more patient, keep showing syed how much he loves him and give him the strength he needs to accept his sexuality, and face his parents. especially as he has hid it so long, because he has never had a support network to rely on...

Marc Elliott is from Stratford-upon-Avon

I watched MacBeth there earlier this year. It's gorgeous there.

I've been to Stratford!!! Went to see Women Beware Women! Such a weird play! The lead guy was walking about with a
spoiler:
black strap-on dildo
attached to him throughout the entire play!

(Spoiler tags used as I didn't know the "proper" way to write it )

And I want to go to Stratford-Upon-Avon! It sounds gorgeous! Aw well, at least I have West End theatre on my doorstep.

yes i have been to stratford, many years ago and loved it. next month i'm hoping to go to the globe in london with a friend.

i saw an amazing production of romeo and juliet in the castle grounds in cardiff, they were awsome, following tradition and all the parts played by men. it rained, strong winds, but we all stayed, even when they cleaned off the stage with mops.

i could see both marc and john in shakespeare, 'romeo, oh romeo, where art thy romeo'

Typical, isn't it? It's like they couldn't wait to get to the kiss, which is deeply ironic in retrospect. I really wish they'd had more build-up, from a pure storytelling perspective. And I also wish had more scenes with them just being friends, simply because the (very, very few) scenes we had with them being friendly and angst-free (I know: what?) were so adorable.

One of my favourite moments is when Syed goes 'We're partners, aren't we?' and Christian's just like .

Another reason why its such a fantastic place. I saw Midsummer nights dream, the atmosphere was amazing. Tried to get tickets to Hamlet but they sold out to quickly.

I haven't seen it either!
Not the whole film anyway.

West End is great but the price you have to pay for tickets.... isn't.
