House Series 6 (UK PACE)

I thought I would set up this thread so that people following it on SKY can post unlike my other thread that discusses the show as shown on FOX

Thankyou Tabby, very kind. I saw the series 5 finale last night and was very sad for a long time afterwards

I totally agree. Strange; the happiness of the wedding juxtaposed with gloom of that looming, gothic asylum.
Are Sky much behind the US? I thought I'd be waiting until the new year for season six, at least!

AFAIK Sky are just a week or so behind the US with House.

Yeah not far behind at all. Gotta give Sky credit for that really, they made sure we'd be almost bang up to date with all those double episodes earlier in the series.

I am not ashamed to say - I cried for about 10 minutes.

When I saw he was going into a psychiatric institution I shouted OH MY GOD so loud

Going to be interesting how things pan out in a new setting for House. I wonder how long he'll be cooped up in there.

Sky are splitting the mini movie into two episodes. This Monday night in the US is episode 4, they are counting the mini movie as episodes 1 and 2.

That's a shame .

Still I guess it gives them an additional week of buffer when House goes two weeks between episodes in the US.

^^ They could have just waited an extra week or two to start season 6. A new season the week after the finale kinda devalues it for me.

I am glad Sky are showing them so soon after season 5 and I don't really care how they split them up, just bring them on!

I think Sky are really pulling the big guns out for new shows starting as quickly after their showing on US TV. So a double episode of House is out of the question, unless they start it at say 8pm. New Fringe starts at 10pm, it only started the other week on US tv. I have seen the House seaon opening and it wouldn't really fit an 8pm showing. Since the UK is so PC about before the watershed these days. Some of his comments might not go down well and some other stuff too.

I enjoyed watching the behind the scenes show on Sky which included a few small tasters for season six... looking forward to tomorrow when it starts.

It's being repeated on Sky 1 at 8.30.

First time i've watched this series, I think whoever wrote/directed may have seen "One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest"

I'm not sure why it's so popular.

Trust me, this is not a run-of-the-mill episode of House!
Try watching a few repeats of the last series on the Hallmark Channel.

Its because Hugh Laurie is so convincing as Gregory House

I guess the whole thing hangs on Laurie's performance, which is great. But, "One Flew Over's" greatness stems from it's relevance, it was a paranoid time. And individuals being controlled by the state was the thought at the time. Not sure it works now.

You watch HL in an episode of Jeeves & Wooster with Stephen Fry and it's hard to believe it's the same actor.
