NCIS : LA (Sky One Pace)

Well, we finally seem to have dropped a date with the PLP showing Wed 21st October on Sky One....

It's going to be damn difficult to track if there are cross over episodes , I believe the NCIS : Washington HO people like Gibbs and Vance have recurring roles/guest appearances.

-

It would be great if the writers could complete the circle and find some time to revisit the grand-daddy show JAG and give us a conclusion on the Harm and Mac story arc. If the coin flipped in "Fair Winds and Following Seas" landed correctly, they should be just down the coast in San Diego. Hopefully NCIS would not try to 'fit Harm up' this time

-

I suppose NCIS:LA is payback for FX robbing Nip/Tuck !!

NCIS UK Premiere FX, terrestrial 5.
NCIS LA Premiere Sky 1, terrestrial ??
Gonna be mad/bad/well-confusing.

--

Maybe someone should see the light and dust JAG off for a fresh re- run, would be mighty ironic if it was Sky 1 as they dumped it years ago unfinished (like BH90210:TOS).

Nice idea to have a JAG ep or even a TV movie but the series finale was satisfying
SKY have the full rights package for NCIS:LA so hopefully it will appear on SKY3 within a year if only to promote interest in the second season on the PAY channel.

To be fair SKY dropped Nip/Tuck and FX picked it up and yeah I should catch up with the JAG DVD boxsets

JAG finale was one of the better ones, but I would like to see an ending.

I still double-take Catherine Bell, with super sexy long long hair, in Army Wives and wonder why she isn't in her Marine Uniform

Must remember to watch at least one ep of that show then

If it does get shown on Sky3 it will be at least two years from now. Sky ain't that nice

Never watched an ep but I am so easily led by my... nuff said

SKY not nice or not that sensible.
It makes sense to use the more widespread "free" screening to generate interest in the next PAY season while the show is on air. Friends and ER on SKY1 were never harmed by having them on Ch4 not long after the season finales.

May get your wish as I'm sure the thread about the CBS/CHELLO partnership and rebranding, mentioned that JAG was a high possibilty for the CBS Action channel.

I'd love a full re-run of that too!

NCIS LA may disappoint some i feel, two episodes in and there is no onscreen chemistry and not impressed with the acting or writing, i certainly would not pay to see it on SKY or anywhere else.

NCIS:LA is a great addition IMO. I like how the characters from the old show connect with the new.

The later seasons of JAG were shown on Hallmark and then on FX. IIRC Hallmark ran up to season eight before FX picked up the last two.

At the introduction of NCIS, initially when after the shock of Gibbs fcuking the investigation up and trying to prosecute an innocent man in Harm, when NCIS was eventually span out of JAG, I watched it and wondered WTF ???

Over time it has obviously grown on me, but the Military Discipline, rules, regs, UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) etc that NCIS prosecute Navy crimes against, don't seem applicable to them as Special Agents/Civillian Federal Agents - this never settled well with me, and still doesn't to be honest.

FX HD have been showing JAG daily for a year or so now - and in HD for the last few series - something Sky never did.

FX HD are also showing the new series of NCIS from this Friday....not just the first episode as announced in TV mags - the FULL series. They did a deal to do this just last week which is why the listings mags are out of date (Shadowlands - an FX worker - has posted on the HD forum to explain)

So any crossovers should be fairly easy to handle with both series starting around the same time here.

Would love to see JAG back but Catherine Bell has her own show now (Army Wives on Living).

A cross over with Quantum Leap would be great too - as that was a navy project and there are rumours it is being developed to come back by Donald Bellasario. .

No substandard punctuation.

Should say

NCIS, UK Premiere FX....

You would need to get the BBC to dust Red Cap off, if you desire a UK Military Policing drama. Unfortunately it was canned, or ended becaue Tamzin Outhwaite bailed for the rather suspect Hotel Babylon - Can't remember which, though Red Cap is missed.

HELP!!! I'm certain that when the usual NCIS did an episode with Gibbs and McGee working a case in LA in (the one where the lady boss and Gibbs had history) that a character looking remarkably like the Christian O Donnell one, who worked undercover was dropped off on the beachfront, and proceeded to be shot in a drive by and died in the arms of a colleague who looked like the LL Cool J character..Or was this a completely different character?

So what you all think?

I like it. Its got the action that I think NCIS lacks.

Anyone get a Miami Vice vibe?

I watched the first episode and wasn't impressed, recorded the second episode but I have the feeling I'm not going to watch this show for long.

I prefer the proper NCIS...mind you the story lines in the last season show on FX was scrapping the barrel.

I watch it at US pace and it does not get any better ,its pants and a better title would be NCIS:shite. The only redeeming factor on the US episode last night was the inclusion of
spoiler:
Abby
.

The old speccy four eyes crone needs put out of her misery.

Need a few episodes to allow it to bed in.

NCIS was bizzaro-city initially, considering it was span out of JAG.

Q. Is this the first time there has been a 'Grandchild' TV show?

I can think of several shows that have had spin-off's (Dallas, Dr Who, 90210, Grey's etc), but not a spin-off from a spin-off ? I don't think you can really vote CSi, Star Trek, Stargate's , as these are same 5h1t, different city/spaceship/galaxy All re-works of the original.

I watched both eps last night, and liked it to be honest.

It was pretty formulaic and somewhat cliched, certainly nothing groundbreaking that we haven't seen before, but it worked. LL and Chris O'Donnells characters are likeable and go well together, so if the plots and writing are at least half decent they should be able to string a few seasons together.

The humour was a bit forced at times and probably needs toning down however.

I'll carry on watching it, and look forward to it to.
