In Treatment
Anyone catch it ?
I liked it - It's different which is good. Not a program you can really form an opinion on in a way because it's going to take a while to see if you get attached to any of the patients. It's on for the next 9 weeks as far as i'm aware - and it's got a 2nd season as well. |

I watched the first 20 mins, but found it too depressing. Not something I'd want to watch regularly.

i think it'll depend on each patient in a way - i guess with five different people, it's going to keep it interesting.
And it was only half an hour anyway, so you didn't miss much

I thought it was great, and the 30 minutes flew by. My partner is a therapist so it resonated in our household (although he did keep saying.. "I wouldn't do that" and "that was a bit leading" but, ya know - it's telly), and it's great to see Melissa George get her teeth into something rather than just her bits out.. she was damn good!

Sky Arts is a wierd channel to show a HBO series. Sky One should be the natural home for it. Or is this a way for Sky to get us to upgrade our packages to get Sky Arts?

With it on Sky Arts 1 it can be viewed ad free like all HBO shows should. Plus this is a show that has to be shown everyday as there are around 43 episodes to get through. |

Well... I think that this has potential to be an excellent show. I really enjoyed the first two, and have been hooked in for at least another week to see how the character developments go, including those we are yet to meet of course.

Pretty good
I've watched both series (at US pace) and it's a good watch.
Once you get to know the characters more it's pretty addictive - apart from the sessions he has with his own therapist, usually bypassed those ones.

haven't watched tonight's one yet - had stuff to do.
i guess it could potentially run for a while - with 30 minute episodes on a single, small set like that they could potentially film anywhere up to 5 per day, so you could film an entire season in a fortnight so the cost of making it would be minimal. and i imagine with the type of show it is, you might find the actors would want to keep at it while they're in character and in the moment. so i guess it would all come down to ratings in the states for a third season to be given the go-ahead. |

Well the young gymnast girl and Laura have got me the most interested for the moment. The only downside to this show is it clashes with nearly EVERYTHING being on at 10 every night. I hope they continue with the omnibus editions every week.

I would think that each 'patient's' editions were rehearsed and filmed consecutively over a couple of weeks. |

I've been watching. The first three stories are interesting, and the story of Sophie is especially compelling, but I thought the couple were boring. And now they've spoiled the whole thing by including Paul's family and life; I think it would have been far more interesting if the whole show had just been the therapy sessions, with the therapist being almost one dimensional. I can't help feeling they've sold out.
A bit odd being hidden away on Sky Arts; are they really afraid to put this on Sky One? And anything that's on five days a week annoys me as it makes it too difficult to keep up.

Now for Sky Arts to be really Arty they should show the Israeli Original after it ends.

I've been watching this and enjoying it.
Melissa George (Laura) surprised me a bit. She's quite good in this. Makes a change to see her in something other than bog standard horror films. |
