Head up New Top Gear Series

According to the BBC the new Top Gear series will start 15th November 2009. It has been filmed in HD. There is no news as of yet as what will be in the series, apart from the race between Hammond and May. May is in the airship while Hammond is in a Lambo.

Good stuff, they are doing an Italian Job style chase through a sewer - it was filmed in Belfast.

The airship stunt went wrong and has been scrapped after the airship crash landed.

It would be still good to see the footage though, hopefully they will include it in the show

Why isn't Top Gear on BBC One? Many smaller shows have been moved up. If it's because more people would complain about stupid things then keep it on BBC Two but otherwise move it up.

Not only does it "fit" BBC2, some things would not be acceptable on the main entertainment channel, and yes, people would complain (more than they do already, rightly or wrongly)

Besides, it does just fine where it is.

You just answered your own question, Clarkson has even said he doesn't want the show to move to BBC1.

As such, reputedly Jeremy Clarkson has vetoed attempts to move it to BBC1.

JC said he's hire a black muslim lesbian to front the show if it was moved to BBC1.

Or something like that?

The new series is going to air at 9pm to avoid clashing with some karaoke competition called the "X Factor" (whatever that is). It also means the program will air post-watershed

Unfortunately though, it will now be up against some programme about has-been pop stars and "TV personalities" degrading themselves in the Australia Outback for a little bit of TV airtime.

Still, I know what I'll be watching.

Absolutely - it was superb. The camerawoprk, the music, the narrative. Total perfection.

So is this going to be a short series or will it continue over Christmas and go into new year?

I make it 5 episodes if that is not the case.

Nov:
15th
22nd
29th

Dec:
6th
20th

I have omitted 13th as that is the final of Snookers UK Championship. Unless its put in early at 7pm that night but normally is not on when it conflicts with Snooker.

The new series is starting quite late this year - I hope that doesn't mean we're only going to get about five episodes.

They may have another episode after Christmas (27th) as they did last year.
