ITV News Revamp

(Hopefully this is the right place to post it)

From what I hear, ITV News will get a revamp on Monday 2nd November.
With new music, stings, new graphics & possibly ( not definite) a change to the shape of the set/theatre of news.

PS: Please don't turn this into a "I hate ITV news" thread!

Where did you hear this exactly?

I know the website is getting a new look (its sure taking them long enough) so maybe they will be getting some sort of refresh, can't imagine a whole new set due to costs, but maybe new titles/graphics or something?

well it is off another ( reliable) forum.
Titles/ Graphics are almost definatly changing.
However , from what i've heard the set is getting slightly more than a background change. Not too sure, how drastic thought, i would have thought the theatre of news would stay too, but from what i've heard mabye slightly new shape.

I hope this is true. I love revamps. I am a bit sad really, but i love all the sites on itv.com that have been getting revamps (Corrie, This Morning etc) so you can imagine what i'm like if a show or channel gets a revamp

Also, what so you mean "our ITV screens" - so possibly not ITV news ( if your not being sarcastic, that is!) - They definately don't need another presenter - they all have too many!!

Yeah i would say it's the weakest of all the bulletins - but i suppose it's the least watched, so less money is spent on it!

I used to be a member there, back when TV Home, the website it accompanied still existed. Stupidly, they banned me for posting too often! Yeah, seriously.

Can we also have some new news readers & reporters for the show, one's who can just tell us the news & not giving opinions by the expressions on their faces

well i know your being sarcastic, but if you look at previous posts, you'll see that their may be a new presenter.

Also, regarding the revamp - the CSO, Studio 2 (old news channel, back up one, that was used a couple of weekends ago) was used for the 11:25 update - you could tell by the fake "bit under the desk" , not sure whether it was used for the lunchtime news or not , but this is presumely to do with the upcoming revamp.

Although this has happened at the weekend , it hasn't happend during the week. So it may be used for bulletins untill the revamp.

Just to confirm the"Theatre of News" has been removed. Studio 2 (normAl one) is now a rectangular CSO studio - the same as Studio 1( old one).

So, the "Theatre of News" has gone!! I wonder if a new "Theatre of News" will be constructed or whether it will be completely fake from now on.

I suppose they are doing that on the lunchtime bulletins, so can be done ( although the presenter is staring in thin air!! - that's proberly why the "theatre" was constructed in the first place)

The lunchtime bullietins (Not EN & NAT) will be coming from Studio 1 until the revamp. So they will have the "fake floor bit untill then!
So I wonder if real or not , what shape it will be - Rectangular?

I'm surprised their spending a considerable amount of money on this , when I don't think it can be improved that much ( i could be proven wrong though) & it's looks better than it has for years. Most people seem to like the current look and to be honest , even though i like refreshes/revamps and think the look of the set/bulletin is very important i think most people are concerned with the quality of the programme, rather than the look.
