BLACK Wii - UK release November 6th

Just announced today.

A Black Wii with controller, nunchuk, motion+, Wii Sports and Wii sports resort will be launched in the UK/ireland on November 6th and across the rest of Europe on November 20th. they say it's a limited edition (but it's hard to say what "limited" actually means..could be "limited" to 50 million units ).

They are also launching a black Classic controller pro on the same day (for virtual console games etc).

Image and announcement here-

I see no reason to exchange my white Wii for a black one, but the black wiimote and nunchuk are available seperately, I'll probably be buying them..
I don't want anyone to accuse me of being racist

Prefer the white original Wii.
To me it said Clean and fresh. Cant imagine it any other colour.

To me the Wii is that little white box.

This is great for the UK, people here seem to lap up anything to do with the Wii so changing it to black and calling it all new is a good way to shift a load of new units because most people will think it's a new super version of the Wii and it'll be the number 1 selling console this Christmas.

Good price this new Black Wii. Seen it online for £164.99 with Free Delivery. Makes it cheaper to purchase then the standard Wii.

I seem to remember that when the Wii was 1st being promoted in adverts they had a lime green coloured one and a red one, nothing became of those. Strangely the green one did look quite classy.

I'm staying well clear of that had a purple gamecube and got a black one and the arguments I had with ninty over the games would work in purple one but not black gamecube even tho nintendo had tested it and could find nothing wrong. (but don't worry this should be ok)

It's gone back up now. And doesn't show on search, on the the Mobile Shop one does for £160.
And I was reluctant to get it just in case its an Import. Expecially since it says something about a UK power adapter.

I ordered mine off Game for the same price for piece of mind, and points

You do realise it is the exact same as a normal Wii, but painted a different colour?

So in answer to your question: no.

Not sure if this is a mistake or not but Amazon seem to be doing an amazing deal on the motion plus black wiimote.

£29.35 and it's official Nintendo. Get it while it's hot.

I'm surprised Nintendo still haven't brought out their own official wireless Nunchuck. I have an unofficial wireless one and it is so much better than the wired one.

The black console does look good, but i am more than happy with my white one so won't be changing.

I'm ordering the black Wii for my daughter this week. I do have a question though; is there a region-free disc swapper like there was for the GameCube? I'd like to buy a few US games for it see.

There used to be but Nintendo updated the consoles firmware to stop it from working.
