Russell Howard's Good News - BBC3

Is it just me or does Russell Howard look bloody awful in the adverts for this show? He looks like a drug addict tbh

Anyway, it starts tomorrow (22/10) on BBC3 at 10:30pm.

I'll record to the planner since it clashes with Griffin embarassing himself on BBC1

Arguably the least funny member of the Mock the Week panel (including the guests) but I'll give him a go

I am led to understand that this ugly runt is a heartthrob to both young ladies and gay men.

Dear god, if so, then I am Brad Pitt and George Clooney rolled into one.

Well, he certainly doesn't do it for me...find him quite funny, but he looks like he needs a good wash most of the time...

Actually I'd have him as just about the funniest now Mr Boyle has departed..

Certainly better than the lame and repetitive Hugh Dennis.

He sounds even worse in it though. He has two impressions. Dopey west-midlander and Daily Mail reading toff and they are both awful, annoying and not funny.

He does look very cute alot of the time, but in the ads he looks DREADFUL! But I shall be tuning in tonight, he isn't great on Mock The Week, but his stand up is brilliant so

I liked it although it was a bit Harry Hillesque, he's a fine stand up but I think he does struggle a bit on television. The show has potential and I'll be watching it next week.

Awful

Contrived and weak. A poor poor imitation of Harry Hill with much much poorer material and Howard didn't seem to have the gravitas to carry anything off

Might impress the young inexperienced BBC3 target audience

Alas...more tosh from the BBC3 Comedy drawers

It wasn't too bad but it won't be challenging the likes of The Daily Show and The Late Edition any time soon. I suppose i'll just continue to mourn that whilst this sort of stuff gets commisoned, the likes of Not Going Out haven't.

Is not too bad, though the sketches are ropey at best. He's just got that 'west-country' look!

It felt derivative throughout and that it borrowed from many shows. Fist of Fun , The Word , Time Trumpet etc

The John Kay checking out in yer face Susanna Reid was pure Benny Hill. So ban it !

For slightly more entertainment , lock the doors and drop John Richardson into the studio and make them fight.

Those shows were good entertainment for me, but I'm almost 10 mins into RHGN and I'm bored already. It's contrived (particularly the ostrich bit) and derivative.

All it does is show clips of things from TV during the week that weren't particular funny anyway and then he bigs them up with a pointless intro. It just weakens what he did on Mock the Week and when I've seen him live.

I was surprised to find I really enjoyed it. Not a fan of his on Mock the Week at all, but thought his stand up was great a couple of years back. I am in the target audience bracket and I did think it was quite a good comedy show, which I wasn't expecting.

I thought it was a bit TV Burp like, at first, but I really liked it as it went on. It was more news than TV, and it was funny. Can't ask for more than that.

I enjoyed it, although it should be re-titled 'Russell Howard's News Burp'.

This is cleverer and more intense than Harry Hill's programme. Doesn't make it any funnier though. It's very choppy. Shame it didn't reflect Russell in his element more- interacting with a young audience.
Saw it recorded but can't be bothered to pick it apart here.
