White Collar **Season 1** US Pace

If you like BURN NOTICE, read on>>>>>

WHITE COLLAR, the latest in the USA's network string of light-hearted crime dramas, including BURN NOTICE, MONK and PSYCH, premieres on the USA network stateside tonight.

WHITE COLLAR follows a by-the-book FBI agent and a charming young con artist who team up to catch white-collar criminals. Whilst the premise sounds simple and a tad formulaic, WHITE COLLAR, is being described as one of the hottest new shows of the new TV season.

Critics are alteady referencing its agility in shifting from comedy to intrigue to action and all the way back, in a similar vein to BURN NOTICE, currently on a mid season break, but returning later in the winter.

The series stars Matt Bomer (Chuck), Tim DeKay 9Carnivale) and Tiffani Thiesen (Saved by the Bell / 90210). The series opens with a 75 minute long introductory episode.

Thought it was alright, straight up miss matched comedy/drama. We'll see what gets tweaked after the pilot is out of the way.

Thiesen's a milf. Marsha Thomason needs to work on her accent, which is a pitty as I like her natural manc accent.

Matthew Bomer doing the straight up pretty boy good guy routine is going to grate unless he starts doing some stuff on the side, he is supposed to be a criminal mastermind after all. And I just hope the story arc dosn't take precedent over the single episode format.

It looks like a nice filler for Burn Notice. As long as they dont ruin it by piling on the drama ie In Plain Sight, I will stick with it.

Watched it!

Found it entertaining. Like the blend of comedy/drama in the vein of BURN NOTICE, but hope they inject some action into it like the aforementioned.

Entertaining pilot. Will stick around to see where it goes. USA Net is producing some good shows lately...think they have a wining formula with these comedy crime shows.

i enjoyed it, like watching a modern day version of the movie "catch me if you can" at the end when the conman decides to work with the govt instead of against them, but with enough doubt and his own agenda thrown in to keep me interested

Marsha's only going to be in the pilot, so it seems!
And Thiessen is still definitely a hot piece of ass!

Really enjoyed this show, made me laugh lots and kept me entertained throughout the whole episode!

I really enjoyed this. Should help fill the hole left by Burn Notice.

Watched this last night. Really enjoyed it.
I was a bit confused about the investigation though (not that it really matters).
How did they go from top secret Canadian Dollar bill fibres to checking people coming in from international flights flagging the keyword "Snow White".
I missed that connection.

And for that matter, why did the art mastermind want with top secret Canadian dollar bill paper, anyway?

Yep, it's pretty good. I've always like Matt Bomber so it's good to see him get a role he can really sink his teeth into.

I can't say I get the Burn Notice comparisons though.

Nonetheless, I will be carrying on with this.

They both belong to the new age "crime-action-comedy" genre that is in fashion of late

I'll definitely be watching this again on Friday. I found Matt Bomer to be extremely engaging and am really looking forward to see what sort of stuff his charm and wit is able to get him in to in future episodes. Plus, like people said Thiessen is still pretty great looking.

Yep, I got that. I thought the reference may have been more in terms of theme, characters, etc.

I agree, the pilot did a really nice job of balancing interesting and compelling drama in the case they were trying to solve, as well as will they won't they solve it in time, and if not will Neal have to go back to prison. But then also having the comedy aspect like when Neal tried to Hit on Peter's assistant. That part I found really funny.

Wasn't really impressed with the 2nd ep. It was still ok but seemed really slow at times. Plus the synopsis of another master criminal was a bit meh!

It looks like Marsha Thomason is out, Natalie Morales is in. That's fine except now we've got another pretty girl for Matt to flirt with (while mourning his lost love) which is a shame as I prefer the idea of a woman he couldn't flirt with.

See where it goes.

Yeah, pity they got rid of the female agent from the pilot.

They've introduced a boss for Burke too.

Still enjoyed it though.

Watched the first episode, it reminded me of the ending of the movie "Catch Me If You Can" set a thief to catch a thief, didn't grab me enough to watch the second one.

I enjoyed the 2nd episode. Love the whole planning of the rooftop party. I thought it was cool how they incorporated Thiessen's character in to be able work along side with Neal and Peter. I also loved the end, don't want to give anything away, to those who haven't seen it, but I thought it was very creative. And for those who have not seen it, you can watch the full episodes here.

Much better 3rd ep, although I thought he dressed a little to much like the Mentalist in the first 10 mins

Good ep this week I thought.

Plus it's always nice to see Callie Thorne in anything (Laura Ballard in H:LotS, McNulty's wife in The Wire, Mahone's wife in Prison Break).

I wonder if Fringe's Charlie (can't remember his name) will be recurring.

I thought this weeks episode was great. When Neal cut of his ankle tacker, a small part of me really thought he was maybe going to make a run for it. I think that's a testament to how solid the writing is on the show. I felt like I was going through the exact same emotions that Peter must of been going through. All in all another entertaining episode, and I loved the part with the dog, fingers crossed he was ok!
