Buffy movie. Yay! Or slay!

I don't want this movie to come out. And actualy feel really sick about it.

It's one of my favourite shows of all time. I don't want it to be turned into a dumb teen flick. Becuase it was so much more than that. It wasn't always brilliant. But it had a lot of moments where it was.

It's going to be butchered. And it will turn into a twilight type horrific, pile of crap.

It's a rip off. one of the worst rip offs ever. As it doesn't need to be remade.

Why don't they think up their own Idea's for a new movie. becuase, no true Buffy fan would want this movie to see the light of day. unless the original cast were involved.

My veiws on the new movie...... Don't rip off Buffy. Be another slayer, whatever, just not Buffy, and the gang.

It worked for me becuase of the characters, the actors, and the weird mind of Joss.

Twilight movies, are a disgrace. Bad acting, awful, patroniseing storyline.

That is what BTVS could become.

Definitely slay. It's still far to soon to rehash Buffy.

Well, the original movie was rip-your-own-eyeballs-out bad, and that doesn't seem to affect how good the TV series is. Why should this new one be any different? It's not like they're going to come to your house and confiscate your DVD boxsets to make way for the new film's arrival.

I'd rather it didn't come out [ersonally, but such things happen.

Either way, I'm studiously ignoring it.

Meah! Indifferent.

That said, I probably will watch it at some point but I won't be in a hurry.

If it does come out, then I think that I'd watch it out if curiousity. That's the problem. I don't want it remade, becuase it will compelle me to watch it. And it will really annoy me. I'll be like, "That isn't Buffy! Who the frig is that playing Angel.. "

I wonder, will they change the whole story. And all the main characters apart from Buffy.

I think it's unfare to Joss, those are his characters, that he created. I know, apparently he doesn't own the rights.

But using his ideas to make a movie, so soon after the tv series is just wrong in my veiw.

It's like, someone doing some dumb new film, called the xfiles, reopened, or something equaly lame. becuase they think the success of the tv series will make them money.

I saw the original movie again recently. And yes, it is mostly awful. The one thing that struck me is that you can hear bits of Joss's script in there, just being horrifically mangled by the actors.

If the first movie proved anything, it's that Buffy doesn't work without Joss there to guide it. So the idea of remaking it as a movie without him is just insane.

They made a mockery out of Joss's script. And thought they knew better than him about what audiences want.

It will be just some silly, teen movie, with nothing special about it.

I agree that it's not going to effect the series in anyway. But still, I really wanted there to be a Buffy movie. But a real one. Not a new one.

I think Joss owns the rights to all the characters from the Buffy TV series, except Buffy (because she was from the movie he made with these hacks who are making this new remake)

That means that the ONLY character from the TV show that will appear in this movie is Buffy. No Willow, Xander, Angel, Giles, Faith, Anya, Cordy, Oz, etc, etc, etc.

It will just be Buffy vs. a bunch of vampires. I expect it will be set in LA, too, as they won't be able to use Sunnydale, either.

As for my views - not looking forward to it. As a writer myself, Joss is a real hero of mine. No matter what they do with this, they'll never be able to do as good a job as Joss could.

It's not going to have SMG.

The fact that it has any conection with BTVS, is BS. A joke.

They can call her doofy, the slayer of the vampire. for all I care. Just not Buffy.

I don't want this movie to come out. Joss isn't apart of it and it's just gonna be a really bad re vamp of the series.

Curious to know who will play Buffy. It will be some unknown american girl.

Oh dear. I think the worst part of this is that someone, somewhere, green-lighted this project.
If studios have money to burn, couldn't they at least make some more 'Firefly'?

Any idea why Whedon isn't involved in this?

No offense, but do you really need to ask? It's a completely new take on his original idea, totally unrelated to the TV show. He knows what we all know, that it's a cheap cash-in to capatalize on the recent rash of new crappy vampire romance films/tv shows, and that it is destined to be utter shit.

deffinately slay.

I wonder why Joss doesn't own the rights to Buffy the character.

Becuase they could call the new town, honeydale, have Buffy's new best friends as Alixander, and Birch, and her new vampire lover as Adrian. Not forgeting her trusty watcher Miles.

They could have it all the same as long as they don't use the same names.

I wouldn't mind a buffy film coming out but only if it means that Willow and Xander can finally be together!

.
Might be from when he made the first film and was just a writer. They took his idea and ran with it. Completely raped the script and ruined his ideas. He reportedly cried when he saw it for the first time. It's impressive he went from there and managed to get a TV network interested. Somewhere in there tho, someone was given the rights.

Fans of the series will know the name "Fran Rebel Kuzui" from the BTVS title credits, she(he?) had no input in the series whatsoever but held joint-rights with JW following the first film, this new monstrosity their baby.
