Voting %'s
Sorry if this is a stupid or previously asked question, but do they ever publish the voting % (like they do with TXF), as I'd be interested to see who gets what each week, so that when it's added to the judges score (or mark the score quates to) what the final rankings look like.
Thanks in advance for any answers posted. |

No. They were leaked last week and it was reported that Chris was way ahead in the public vote with Tuffers being his closest rival. I have to admit that knowing that he was so popular took the shine off last night's results show a little for me, as once it got down to the final three I knew Chris was safe.

It's hardly a "John Sergeant" crisis for Chris. He's not the best dancer but he's certainly not awful.

I would always tend towards being slightly dubious about a Daily Star article but not surprised that Chris is popular. Him and Ola are quite cute together and he started well. |

Thanks for all the answers - I agree that perhaps not best to post them after each show, as it could spoil the tension and also result in block voting, but I can't see why the BBC won't publish them after each series?
Looking forward to watching everyone tackle the huge floor at Blackpool and will have to keep my fingers and toes crossed when the results are announced and hope my vote helps :-) |

What would be gained? The series would be over, and after the Final, public nterest generally drops to something close to zero (apart from the forum stalwarts). For most, I suspect it would be a case of "Ho hum, what's that all about then?".

Can you imagine if the public voting figures for SCD6 had been published? Quite aside from re-igniting Sergeant-gate ( ), it would confirm what it was pretty obvious in the final weeks of the competition: that the contestants being ousted by the judges in the dance-off were more popular with viewers (significantly, in some cases) than the judges' favourites whom they shamelessly steered through to the final. ![]() The show's reputation has already taken another battering this year and we are now in the middle of a new 'judges vs public' battle - releasing this information would only make matters worse. Although it would make interesting reading ... |

In the absence of any figures from previous years, I'll take that post, especially the bit about credibility, as being supposition and guesswork. But one thing confuses me - you mention the final stages, surely (for SCD6) it would have been the public voting putting two couples into the dance-off anyway? |

It is pretty obvious that the producers and the judges colluded to protect their favourites - because they knew how the public were voting and therefore could mark up Rachel and Lisa and mark down other contestants who were more popular (Austin, Christine). It isn't the public voting that consigns people to the dance-off: it's a combination of the public's and judges' votes. Therefore the producers could reasonably work out how to score contestants to ensure Rachel and Lisa were safe. It all came undone in the semi-final, of course, when they tried to stitch up Tom, the public's remaining favourite. They botched it up by creating a situation where he could never be saved by the viewers. Hence the three-person final we saw where the public finally had their say.

Sorry, but I simply do not accept or support any such conspiracy theory. But I accept that others do (as is their right).

Im really shocked that Chris and Ola are getting the most votes! I do like them, but I really didnt think they'd be the top couple!
Im glad though, I'd love to see Ola have a good run in the competition, she always seems to go out midway. |

What I found interesting last year from the XF numbers was that Alexandra Burke was NOT a favourite in the voting, eighoan (sp?) was, but she kept gathering voters as other acts were kicked out and eventually overtook him.
That's why I would like to see the percentages, if for nothing else than to see if any of these theories that roam around on this forum are accurate. I wouldn't even mind getting them two years later, just so I know what was actually happening. |

We don't know this for sure. It was in the Daily Star from a "source" inside the BBC, which could be the cleaning lady who happened to hear people applauding as each dancer did their turn on the floor.

From X Factor/Pop Idol voting figures I have seen - and I haven't seen every series - what surprised me was how changable it all was. Someone could be leading one week and gone the next. Certainly song choice and order of performance were really important. And those shows didn't have scores so wanting to stick up for the people at the bottom of the leaderboard wasn't an issue. The people who won in the end weren't winning every week. There's a lot of luck - as with SCD where you need to get your bad dances over with while people will forgive you and have the dances that suit you waiting for the end.

Very true, something that everyone should bear in mind whenever a tabloid quotes "a source", "insider" or says that something was "leaked" to them.
