So nothing to tempt me away from my Nokia which has 250 mb browsing, unlimited texts and 750 mins/month, all for £25/month plus free handset.

Oh and tethering doesn't cost me extra either.

Very disappointed.

Extremely disappointing.

My contract with 3 expires next week and was hoping to get an iPhone slightly cheaper, ah well.

I think orange have missed a big trick here.

Also, they said if they didn't reduce the price, there would be extra incentives to join. I can't see any there?

Orange have said recently they would not be entering a price war with O2, because Apple will not allow it. They will not have the brand cheapened at all.

Any news on the tethering prices or are they are direct copy of the O2 prices too?

Ordered!

It's pennies cheaper than 02, can change to a higher tariff if req'd at a later date.
Keep my free broadband for home, what more could you ask for?

Great CS once again from Orange.

Top Job

Tethering is similar to O2.

£4.89 for 500MB
£9.79 for 1.5GB
£14.68 for 3GB
£24.47 for 10GB

OOB rate is 1.96p per MB

How did you manage to order it?

I just called Orange and was told that it was supposed to be on their systems for preorders this morning but it isn't on there yet.

The nice lady I spoke to said she is going to call me back when it is on the system.

I can quite happily say "I told you so" to all those who were adamant that Orange were going to slash O2's prices - those announced tarrifs and prices are exactly the same as they are on o2 - and I can safely assume Vodafone will be the same again.

Haha.

No idea, I think I caught the guy off guard a bit but he took all the details and had no probs.

If it makes any difference I am a premier customer, not sure if you go through to different deptartments, but apparently you do!

I also went through loyalty rather than upgrades.

Hope this help, but only if you don't slow the delivery of my phone!!!

Good luck

How mobile phone networks have the nerve to say Unlimited and then "limited to 750MB" in the same paragraph is disgusting.

Thanks for the info. I got through to the premier cs too although I went via the upgrades option.

I'll give it a little while to see if I get a call back if not I might try again and go the same route that you did.

When you say loyalty do you mean the retentions department? Or was there another option on the menu that I didn't listen to?! lol

Like someone said on here before, retentions are offering no deals on the i phone, and insurance for this phone is 12 pounds a month not 6 pounds as normal.

Check your house insurance, I did when I got my iPhone on 02 (for a week!) and it was fully covered.
Wish I'd known that years ago as have been paying for phone insurance for years.

So reasonable guess would be that Vodafone prices are not going to be earth shattering when they come out.

Please check your information. The 750mb is Fair Usage. O2 have a Fair Usage Policy too.

The Insurance is £12 a month, but that is still cheaper than O2 who charge £15 for the 3GS or CPW who chharge £14.

And whilst your home insurance may cover the item, the excess will be a lot larger and you may have to wait a consideranble amount of time up to 28 days, whilst still having to pay your line rental. Specific insurance policies like this will have a lower excess and 24 hour phone replacement services.

so now price fixing needs to go on Apple's list of misdemanours as well as choking competition.

Will the EU step in like they do with Microsoft? Its about time.

750MB 'unlimited' browsing? On a phone that offers as rich an internet experience as the iPhone? That is a complete disgrace, especially if you're paying £30 a month for the phone!

Even if you go over 750MB, you are still not charged.

You can guarantee if every single iPhone customer hammers the data, they'll re-align the FUP.

I've used 2.6GB in 3 weeks on O2!!

Nah.

Not impressed.

I was intrigued as an existing Orange customer but for £29 I can get 200 minutes, 750MB internet, unlimited texts, and an insured phone.

I might have been convinced if there was more in the plan such as unlimited texts.

Actually, O2 do not have an arbitrary limit. Their "fair use" limit is just that - they will only have an issue if you adversely affect the network. It may be a bit vague but you won't be charged for exceeding an arbitrary limit. But Orange will. It's ludicrous to be honest - having a limit and calling it unlimited. I wished the ASA came down hard on stuff like this.

That is excatly why the ASA allow this activity. It is not an arbitrary limit, it is a Fair Usage Policy.

Does anyone know what an MMS will cost? With O2 one MMS equals 4x SMS so comes out your SMS bundle, wondering if Orange will be the same
