Upgrading Sky+ to Sky+ HD Advice Rqd

I am thinking of upgrading from SKY+ to HD and have a Toshiba 32WLT66 tv.

1) Does anyone know what resolution this tv gives - (ie 720 or 1080 ?) and if anyone has this tv and Sky HD what is the picture like for SD and HD ?

2) What resolution does Sky broadcast in for HD ?

Any advice would be useful

Thanks

Your TV native resolution is 1366 x 768 pixels so that's 720p but it will support a 1080i input as this is what the sky box outputs at. a Quick Google search and found this http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/television...9262427,00.htm

Not got this TV but one similar and the HD chanels on mine do look a lot better SD can be a little crap at times depending on what chanel it is (ITV being the worst offender).

I have a Toshiba 32WLT58, as Leekey said, it native resolution is 1366 x 768, and displays video from the HD box with no problems.

I have had it since the launch of Sky+ HD over 3 years ago and have not had a problem with it, it was well worth the investment.

I find the SD pictures really good, and the HD picture fantastic.

Sky's channels broadcast in 1080i, but this screen is perfectly ok.

If you do find yourself leaning towards upgrading, I would urge you to take a look at the channels available, what programmes are broadcast in HD (not all programmes are) that you like to watch, and decide whether it is worth the extra cost before going ahead.

There will be a 12 month minimum subscription if you decide to go ahead.

One important question is how far do you sit from the TV? 32" is relatively small for HD so you need to sit quite close to it to get any real benefit (7'-8').
