It's on the Marketplace now, but when I select it I get "Could not retrieve information from Xbox Live"

I'm currently downloading it, i've got to say that i'm quite surprised by the size of the demo (1.69gb), L4D1's demo was only about 700mb!

^ same here. Controls feel more refined, the weapons are great. Love the melee stuff, whacking zombies with guitars and frying pans is all good fun. The machete is well powerful you can take out a small crowd and decapitate a load in the process with one good swipe. L4D is the best co-op experience I think I've ever had with online games.

Another day 1 purchase, gonna be skint at this rate.

Liked this alot more then I expected to really.

Got the 1st on steam and didn't think I would adapt well to a pad for l4d2 but had no issues at all and does seem like theres added fun in this one.

Lotta laughs, lotta dead zombies. And not one of them wielding a gun in sight!

Didn't play the first game, but after this demo I think we have a winner for the premier zombie franchise of this gen. Until Dead Rising 2, at least.

Before it came out, I read somewhere that all the new melee weapons would be in the demo.

I only found the guitar, night stick, frying pan and machete. Are the others in there, or was that info wrong?

It was definately wrong, in the PC version the console cheats to give yourself weapons were taken out for anything you can't pick up (except explosive ammo).

Loving the AK-47 though the guitar is a bit overpowered I reckon.
Still, can't wait for the full game.

The demo is good fun nice to see the Tank and Witch return. I can't justify getting this on release day though once the price has dropped then maybe.

I played it online last night and found it really laggy and the collision detection was dreadful, i've give the single player a blast the night but I'm not too overly unimpressed.

The mobile Witch is kind of interesting, much harder to avoid. I'll be getting this on PC of course. Partly because I don't have a 360, but mainly because FPS games don't work well on gamepads in general

Lag will make hit detection go weird

Get a good connection to the server and you will be able to decap limbs with the Spas 12 from 20 feet!

Dont forget to activate the Jukebox in the corner cafe for some fantastic slashing to music

The lag on multiplayer last night was dreadful, and I do have a good connection! Ended up junking the game and just playing single player.

The new melee weapons were massive fun and using the Boomer bile on zombies was awesome. I was going to hold off on buying this and wait for the price to drop a bit but I think I'll be getting it sooner rather than later. Can't wait to try scavenge mode and versus with the new special infected

The new mode "realism" sounds like it could be fun too.

I would be interested in why you think this.
I would much prefer a pad and a 42" HD television to a mouse, keypad and monitor.

If you've got one, molotov her and RUN. Otherwise, Melee weapons work quite well, especially if you can sneak up on her.

Or, if one of your teammates has already startled her, just whack her on the noggin with a frying pan whilst she's tearing him a new one.

Jockey has to be my least favorite of the new ones. Those things have caused my demise twice already from nearly full health since they drag you away from your group. If they aren't quick enough, you're doomed! (Not a complaint, but everyone has to hate one more than the rest!)

downloaded this demo last night and played for an hour this morning. first impressions are good - thought the gameplay was fun and enjoyed the atmosphere. kids were listening and my youngest got a bit freaky when the 'witch music' was playing.

One question though - on the park level you go through a bus and the alarm sounds. How do you switch it off? I've noticed there's a switch like thing on the wall but I cannot seem to do anything with it. It's the 360 version if that helps.
