MW2: £27 From Asda only for 24hrs

Here is what I have heard so far, from my manager, this is still to be confirmed

For one day only 24hrs, MW2 will be sold at £27, while stocks last

If you have not pre-oredered and are going to your local Asda at midnight, to secure your copy, you should go today and pre-order, so when you turn up at midnight you will know you have a copy waiting

With every retail shops opening at midnight, expect big queues, especially at Asda, and I guess Tesco aswell, doing something sililar in price

I asked about pre-ordering at my local 24 hour Asda and was told that you couldn't.

Go back, and ask them if any of the asda store do pre-order

Now if they say yes, ask them why there not doing pre-orders

I even have the barcode no....505141371165, which I should not have unless I have a pre-order receipt

Now if they say no Asda store are doing pre-order, tell them some one on digital spy works in asda, and he know of pre-order in his store

If you give us the branch you work for the argument might have more weight.... or it could simply be that they are allowing pre-orders just for staff?

I asked in an Asda about GTA4 and was told that they DO NOT take pre orders in store.

Hopefully they have either changed or see sense and you guys get your pre orders booked

Unless you handed over some readdies, I wouldn't risk it. I'd find it highly likely that they will give your copy to someone else that turns up on the day.

Do you have to leave a deposit for pre-orders?

With this 'while stocks last' they'd still hold my copy until afternoon if I reserved, right?

do you think every asda country wide are going to have queues outside come midnight of people waiting to get there hands on MW2?? that's a lot of asdas country wide. Bearing in mind a lot of people order online plus people going into a store in the morning I would think the chances of you having to wait in line are extremely slim as only diehards and people on Internet messageboards will do this. If you really want it at midnight I reckon you will be able to walk straight in and get one.

roland rat, not disbelieving you mate, just my experience when I tried it.

So long as they stick to 'no pre-ordering' I'm not that bothered as it'll be a level playing field and I'll be there at midnight anyway.

The last time i que'd up at asda it was for W@W, i got there at 10.30 and was about 30th in the que, by midnight there were over 600 people, half of which were turned away due to stock contraints. So i would not like your chances of walking in and getting one.

On the same subject, i asked last weekend about a pre-order at my asda which is huge btw, and not only did they not know anything about a pre-order, the lady looked at me strange when i said Modern Warefare 2!

A reasonable assumption to make, but when I beleived I thought I could do the same thing last year when GTA4 came out, boy was I wrong.

I wandered into my local Tesco's about 15 minutes before midnight, to find a long queue by the customer services desk, and yep they were all queueing for GTA4 and no more were left.

I eneded up , ironally in my nearest Asda's at about 12:15am and queued for about 45 mins before I got my copy , but only just.

MW2 is more expensive than any other game released so far, so perhaps this may drive more people online for that cheaper version, except for the fact that Royal Mail are striking one the days the game will be put in the post, so people may just choose to 'play it safe' and head into their local store.

Do you not think your all taking this a bit too far and letting a game overrule your lives? I think your all setting yourselves up for a mighty fall when you actually get the game because it is just a game.
