Hi everyone been a long time reader of these forums but never really got round to posting. I have just recieved in the post today six vouchers for a free Sky+HD box with free standard set up when you join or stay with Sky TV and take the HD pack. If anyone wants the code for this deal please PM me. Also I hope this is not against forum rules I aplogise if it is.

Is this deal just for new customers to Sky or open to existing customers as FREE installation would be good with the FREE Sky + HD box IMO.

Thanks

If you take out Sky Movies for the nesxt 12 months you can get a free box and just pay £30 installation fee for exisiting costumers.

And there was Sky telling me to hurry up and order as the £49 honeymoon was coming to an end by Christmas

I am totally p*ssed off about this and with Sky full stop.

I had one hell of a fight with Sky to upgrade to HD. The offer I saw was for existing customers to upgrade with multiroom. I've had the full package for as long as I can remember, and Sky+ multi-room for 18 months, and because I already have multi-room they said the offer doesnt stand and would have to pay £110. So basically they are penalising a £60 per month paying customer. After numerous phone calls on that damn 0844 number (probably about 3 hours in total!!!) I eventually I had the £30 deal but had cancel my current multiroom, renew it with a new multiroom and pay £110, but they said they would credit my account with the £80 difference after 14 days. (why I just dont know!!)

The phone calls occurred during last week, and HD was fitted day before yesterday.

Saturday night I was flicking through the Sky magazine and noticed this £30 offer for HD as long as you stay on (or buy) movies for another year!
What a load of tossers! As the magazine was printed god knows how long ago, they KNEW this offer was on when I phoned them last week and not one person I spoke to (had to have spoken to about 10 different people in total) offered this to me.

So now, I'm waiting for my £80 refund, and am tied to multiroom for another year!

Sky customer service is the absolute pits. All they care about is new custom, and loyal long-term paying customers are very much bottom of their list of priorities.

I'm absolutely livid with them
Has anyone any idea who best to complain to that will get an intelligent response?

I don't see the problem. The original offer was clear and you have shown you have understood it. Was there anything in the terms and conditions that said you could negotiate a lower price because you were a long standing customer? No , I didn't think so.

Plenty of companies change their offers all the time, not just sky. Sounds like a case of complaining just for the sake of it.

Yes, but after 3 hours in total of arguing, and they had this offer of keep/upgrade to sky movies for a year, why the hell wasnt I informed of it?

My upgrade was almost as much hassle. I had to be charged £210 because the system though I already had Sky+HD. I was short enough with my money but the moron kept going on, well we have your box and the "honeymoon is coming to an end" the price is going back up as Sky are having enough of the £49 offer on the HD boxes. The honeymoon part were his exact words. So I asked when will I get my refund and told within 3-5 working days. It took over 2 weeks.

I was happy enough in the end with the product, refund was not helpful as a fell into bank charges and although the box is a good deal it is very annoying that Sky are heavily rotating Free Boxes now and the "Official" Sky Sales Team are actually bullshitting over the phone.

P.S never was credited a free months HD sub even though I registered online before the system cock-up.

I've got 5 remaining codes if anyone wants them - more than happy to split the M&S vouchers as well for any new customers.

Thanks to those posting with vouchers

I can guarantee it works. I was able to use one of the voucher codes and am now set for installation next week.

No charge for box; no install fee; and no catches - just normal HD subscription.

I also recieved these vouchers and was going to give one to my Son but reading the T&Cs, It says,

A existing Sky subsriber must get a brand new customer who is not a member of their household to subscibe to any Sky package with the HD pack before the 24th of Dec 2009,

So not as easy as you think!!
