Kate and Gerry McCann: Been on TV a lot today (3/11/09)

They have been on GMTV, BBC Breakfast and This Morning and also the ITV news promoting computerised images of their missing daughter of what she may look like now.

Have they been on other shows today so far. The One Show's on at 7.

Christmas is coming, they want more fund money..Gerry and Kate need their mortgage paid next month maybe, and remind the public to send cash and presents like they did last year/year before?
I swear they pop up in the media only when 'their' fund is draining.
When they appeared on the Oprah show a $ sign was added to their website so they could get some American cash, that sickens me..it's really not about their daughter anymore is it?

Oh ffs, they are searching for their child!! It's not in the papers half as much as it was, so they need to keep reminding people. They aren't doing any harm to you, and Im sure you would do the same if your child went missing.

NO child is safe until the person who kidnaped her is found....

How scare mongering is that statement....

Well to be fair, most people would be searching for their child in the literal, physical sense.

They wouldn't spend their time threatening legal action to all and sundry and making sure any dissenting voices were immediately silenced.

How does anyone even know the ins and outs of what they are doing.....all anyone knows is what the press reports. How I see it, these are 2 distraught parents, cligning onto whatever hope they can, to find their child. I can't comprehend how people can judge/speculate about how they conduct themselves, when I doubt none of us have been in their situation.

Kate McCann has said before that the night Maddie disappeared they didn't search until morning as 'it was dark'. If it were me, I would have been out in the dark shouting my daughter's name until I could shout no more.

Speaking of Kate, why is it she pleads for information from people and asks for people to help them find out what happened to her daughter but it was Kate that refused to answer the 48 questions put to her by the police?

Any other shows during the week? Jonathan Ross even or a satellite link to other countries including the US.

That's right, do the media rounds in the UK when she didn't even go missing due to incompetence in this country. The chances of her being in the UK i'd say are virtually nil.

Their current slogan is "a minute for Madeleine". The McCanns don't do irony, obviously.

Just like no child is safe when they're left alone in an unlocked apartment while their parents go to the bar. I have little sympathy for them myself.

And do you think they will ever forgive theselves for that?

Don't you think they wish every single day that they had never went out?

They made a mistake that night, they will suffer for the rest of their lives with it.

They don't see it that way. They still don't think they did anything wrong. (And it wasn't just the one night, but their routine every night.)

It's a controversial case. There have been several long threads in the general forum about it. There are a lot of anomalies in the McCann's behaviour, and some evidence that the child died in (or near) the apartment and the parents covered it up. Not proof, and not enough to convict them, but enough to prevent some people from accepting their version of what happened. If you aren't aware of the controversial details you may not understand some of the comments.

Edit: the thread I had in mind is here.

It wasn't just that night, it was all the nights on the holiday before it. And, in my opinion, the fact they ever thought doing such a thing was acceptable is deplorable. The fact is, they did it, their daughter went missing as a result, and I have little sympathy because of their idea of parenting and consistent refusal to admit that they were in the wrong. I know loads of parents, all of them wouldn't for a second think of doing what they did, they'd find it outragous.

Sky news aswell this morning. Who can blame them for trying. Whether you choose to believe them or not is a personal decision...if you don't like them/believe them then don't watch...there's always the off button. And I am not necessrily a supporter i just think they have freedom of choice to do what they feel they need to, whatever the circumstances of maddies disappearance.

If they are guilty, then they are distracting attention from other missing children, and their fund is a fraud. This offends people's sense of justice - it's a basic human instinct to want to call out cheats. Hence threads like this will attract critics.
