Colin Firth has f!%ked up his teeth...

Watching various interviews today and he seems to have had work on his upper arch and is a bit worried to show them off. Although, the flash of teeth (from the upper arch) that you do see look very fake and have left him talking like he has the mouth of a horse......

With all that money why didn't he get a good teeth job. Were his teeth that bad before anyway???

Many Brit celebs seem to be going the American nuclear white fake tombstone gnasher route - it's hilarious.

Dennis Waterman had his done a few years back - he looked like Shergar when he first showed them off.

Simon Cowell has a lot to answer for.

Surely there are a few honest dentists around, that can make veneers/implants/fake teeth not so blindingly white and huge, so that they look at least a bit natural?

You can have veneers made smaller, so it isn't a big problem if that's the issue. Sarah Jessica Parker has very good veneers IMO - they don't look too "fake".

Oh silly me- I was getting muddled and imagining Collin Farrel with huge white teeth as I was reading this! Colin Firth makes a lot more sense than ruggid Irish man, although I'm sure I will agree he looks silly too- I'm disappointed he's caved and gone down that ultra shiny showbiz road. What ever happened to good old beige teeth?

For me they just look like you're wearing dentures which in effect you are. Basically the teeth are eroded down to stumps then capped...GREAT.

I've has two done but only because they were both snapped when I was a teenager and and had begun to rot.

They just look fake and naff, wheres the character?

He hasn't done a Dennis Waterman, has he??!!

I wouldn't have thought Colin would get it done on the cheap.......but even Dennis managed to get his oversized gnashers fixed, so there is hope for everyone.

Those are crowns, veneers are just placed on top of the front your existing teeth but they do scratch ridges into them first for the veneers to adhere to so basically it is veneers for life then.

It is funny when they have them too big though and/or too white, but not the Firth, I like the Firth.

Couple of glimpses there, he's definitely whistling a bit so they aren't fitted well at all.

Unless they are just temporaries until he gets the permanent ones? Not sure if they do that with veneers though.

It is, they look so ridiculous! Plus it makes people look older. Cheryl Cole looks like Shania Twain now!

My favourite is when they have the top set done, and not the bottom, it looks even more stupid!

They don't look too bad, but he must have felt awkward being interviewed with his new teeth

he is still cute though

I can't work out what, if anything, he has had done. He rarely shows his upper teeth, even in old footage or photographs. I wouldn't have noticed a thing in that Youtube video.

Sorry, am I missing something? I can't see any difference - in fact I could hardly see his teeth at all!

Waterman's railings were too big for his gob, they used to be hysterically funny

I reckon he had to have them filed down because it was getting ridiculous - they even incorporated some 'gnasher jokes' into the New Tricks script!!

I'm sure it's not entirely the dentist's fault! The patient will more than likely have a say in what colour and shape they are. Unfortunately most people would probably pick the whitest shade of white without thinking about how appallingly false it would look in their mouth.
