Celebrity Big Brother will have live streaming in bid to boost viewing figures

http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/news/...875-21795387/?

Fans will be able to watch live tasks in the afternoon on digital channel E4 when the final Celebrity Big Brother starts in January.

And after some viewers complained about the lack of live streaming in the Summer, up to eight hours will be shown every day.

6 hours at night
2 hours during the day
not good enough

24/7 coverage is what's needed
none of this half hearted nonsense

Well it's something. They should ensure that daytime tasks happen when the live feed is on.

It's more than I expected they would do. In fact I thought the LF might be scrapped altogether in 2010.

Still shittola on toast.
So they are going to fit 2 hours of streaming in between episode of Friends then.
But reduce the overnight to 6 hours 00:00 start every night then.

i'm only guessing their plan
i'm guessing midnight - 6am similar to BB10
plus UPTO a couple of hours of live feed for tasks ..etc

they could get the queen, lord lucan and elvis presley as housemates and i still won't be watching that half hearted nonsense

24 hour coverage is the only way to go in my opinion
that is big brother

How kind of them.

I wish Channel 4'd just dump Big Brother now and give Endemol time to find another channel who's actually bothered. I mean Channel 4 have so many huge hits they don't appear to need Big Brother.

Oh wait.

**E4 boss Angela Jain said: "Viewers will be delighted to know that live streaming will be available for a few hours each day on E4 and overnight when Celebrity Big Brother returns to Channel 4 in the New Year for the final series."**

Oh really! A few hours during the day.........yeah right, that'll bring back the viewers they lost last CBB. I think not....they really are taking the *iss!
What the hell is the point in having LF when they're in their bed asleep.

Absolutely pathetic, heowever I expected no less from Jain!

Message to E4 cheifs if reading...

SIX HOURS OF NIGHT FEED IS NOT NEEDED!!!!!

Most of the housemates are usually in bed by 2 or 3am. How about these hours....

10.00am - Big Brother Live
12.30pm - Big Brother's Little Brother rpt
1.00pm - Big Brother rpt
2.00pm - Big Brother Live
4.25pm - Hollyoaks rpt

11.00pm - 3am - Big Brother Live

It's pointless bothering, they won't listen.

If BB does continue past next year, it should be online.

With the likes of Ustream there'd be little excuse not to have a proper feed then, not that Endemol would be as likely to begrudge us.

Do you think ending the live stream was damaging to the show?
"To be honest, I'm Head of E4, so that was my decision. The truth is that the numbers were in massive decline anyway and really there weren't that many people watching the feed this time last year. So I'm not sure that it did have an effect. We're talking about 100,000 people and I'm not sure that would have contributed to the decline of Big Brother. 100,000 is not going to make that much of an impact."

thats what angela jain said in august
now apparently she's bringing back some daytime live feed to boost ratings.

It's not really giving us anything more ... it's just putting back the daytime feed we had for CBB6 that they took away during BB10 ...

Just what I was going to say! Too little, too late.

It's still way too little live feed time for many people to get that excited about watching it. Anjela Jain, she really is full of it, isn't she?

She told myself it was David Williams and that she'd attempted several times to have the decision reversed.

Just got in touch with BB's press office:

'Hi Sid,

The hours include both afternoon (e4) and overnight streaming. The schedule is still TBC so I cannot give you more of a break down on hours sadly.

Best wishes,

Kate'

Looks like the OP's right about the hour allocation.

LOL. Have you seen their viewing figures recently? It's about 1.5m average for a 9pm show. Makes BB look like X Factor. One saving grace is The Family - back on tonight!

How can they call it recorded when it was delayed upto 20 minutes at times so they can edit bits out. it should be called "recorded stream", not live!

Looks like the OP's right about the hour allocation.
for example say there's an hour or two of live feed during the day, something interesting happens just as the show ends ,and a repeat of friends is broadcast
no continuity of plot makes the show unwatchable in my view
24/7 live feed has always been the answer
channel 4 should be kicking arse not dying on their arse
compliance is an excuse, they managed 24/7 live feed last year.

So 2 hours during the day of live feed will help viewing figures but an all day stream will not . This is just typical of C4 management they know loss of full streaming was a mistake but a full reversal of there discision would be admiting they where wrong
