Why do people always fall for these stories?

Does anyone want to compile a list of all the people the Tabloids have claimed were going to appear in the series who never turned up?

Crespallions? I think I had those for tea last night, with chips.

Thanks Weedle: just goes to show the infinite possibilities that DW has!

Didn't Moffat say he only had the finale to write?

It's tradition that the first part of the finale is stacked with celebrity cameos. This is pretty run-of-the-mill stuff.

Still, I find it hilarious how angry the original poster is getting at this. I can picture gilesb penning an angry letter to the BBC about this. Or starting a petition on the official Downing Street website.

I personally would love to see her in Doctor Who as i am a fan of The X Factor, Girls Aloud and Doctor Who.

It would be great it might only be a cameo

Why would a shallow, untalented bint who is clueless enough on the X Factor be cast in a famous and respected British show such as Doctor Who?

I watch the X Factor too, and recognise that Cheryl Cole isn't even good at playing herself.

Yes, because it's only the cream of the crop that turns up in Who, isn't it. Never get anything less than pure unadulterated talent...

I'm not saying that. Doctor Who should not be a platform for the Cheryl Cole show. She's everywhere already, which is amazing since she's completely untalented.

Seriously, do people have no long-term memories?

A search back through the history of this board will bring up a dozen or more silmilar threads the only difference being the name of the person the Tabloids were claiming would be appearing; none of whom ever did.

It rather depends on how quickly she gets killed off (and more importantly) in a grotesque manner by some form of violent alien type.

In that case, yes I wouldn't complain too much.

Never ever going to happen. Cheryl has a very good PR person though by the look of it.

Remember when Lily Allen was going to be the new assistant? Think we can file this story alongside that one....

But to be fair, even if she was... we have never actually seen her act before, so how can she be judged so readily?

you don't watch X-Factor then??

when she was "mentoring" her lot, telling them that they had "fantastic singing voices", when in truth a lot of them couldn't have held a note in a large bath - her convincing acting and her "tears" were worthy of a BAFTA!

Was it a platform for the Davina McCall show? The Anne Robinson show? The Paul O'Grady show? The Derek Acorah show? The Barbara Windsor show? I could go on, but you get the point, I'm sure.

Yep I'm totally with you on this it's either bull or is going to be a playing herself cameo.

Cole is obviously this years Myleene Klass, ubiquitous to the point of extreme annoyance.

Some things should, and must, remain Cole-free. Who, being a kiddie show and thus lacking the opportunity to give her a truly gruesome and embarrassing death scene, is one of them.

Still, the tabloid BS around Who casting is always fun to read

Was it a platform for the Lily Allen show? The Jennifer Ellison show? The Gillian Anderson show? The twenty women who were supposed to be playing the Rani show? The Woody Allen show? The Paterson Joseph show?

At what point do people stop automatically believing everything that appears in a Tabloid?
