Good call, especially The Prisoner and Edge of Darkness, two of the best programmes I've ever seen on TV.

I'd replace Blackadder II with Life on Mars and The World at War with Spooks though, good though those programmes are.

UK SHOWS

1) Afterlife (should have been more than 2 series)
2) Only Fools and Horses (christmas is not the same these days)
3) Fawlty Towers (still funny, john cleese is a legend)
4) Band of Gold (really gritty itv drama)
5) The Office (excellent comedy from the bbc)

NON UK SHOWS

1) Prisoner Cell Block H (the best and most under-rated show ever)
2) Dexter (excellent and gory)
3) X-Files (still feels fresh when watching the re-runs)
4) Friends (must see comedy of the past. great background tv for today)
5) Damages (excellent gritty us drama)
