Any men play Wii Fit?
Hi everyone,
I'm a guy, and tend to change between gym, running or weight training depending on my motivation/mood. I keep looking at Wii Fit, and thinking it'd be a fun way to do something different and break a sweat up. Trouble is, let's face it, the marketing is really aimed at women (nothing wrong with that, know your market...) and they seem to ponce around in the ads without breaking a sweat. So I just wondered if any men have used it and found it challenging or good for muscle building etc? Thanks! |

Wii fit is more of a japanese style work out, streches and yoga mostly and some fun little games. Some workouts you may break sweat but it depends on how much in shape you already are. EA sports active may be worth looking at if you want a more western world style workout. Ive never played it but its supose to be good.

Agree with above. Not used it myself, but Sports Active seems to be more what you're looking for. Below is from Wikipedia...

Ahh thanks guys. And yes, I remember seeing something recently that was more interesting than Wii Fit, but I couldn't remember what it was. Tried searching for Wii Sports, but that wasn't it... but it's Sports Active (you can see my confusion).
I'd be very interested to hear any views on Sports Active. |

I really advise EA Active. Got it out again today and did one of my 15minute custom workouts. Forgot how much it got you going. It's also good fun!
A new EA Active is coming out soon - a follow up with over 30 new exercises on it. |

We have both, we mostly use Wii Fit though, just because it seems more fun than EA Active.
I occasionally go on Wii Fit...when i can be bothered

![]() I've also got EA Sports Active but neither me or the other half have really used it yet. Damn that Sports Resort and its addictive table tennis... |

I'm a man and use Wii Fit and EA Sports Active.
Some of the new exercise modes on Wii Fit Plus really make you break a sweat. "Wii Sports Resort" and "Mario and Sonic At The Olympic Winter Games", while not strictly exercise games, are also worth trying. |

I used it quite a bit in the early part of this year and lost just over a stone in three months
![]() Since then though I've not really bothered. Haven't put the weight back on as yet, so maybe it's done it's job. |

I just had a 30+ mins go of Wiifit Plus.
Just using the training plus balance games and im knackered ![]() Had a go of the tilt city game where you need to put the coloured balls into correct cups, then adavnced skateboarding. Next was the rythem parade which I found not as easy to keep marching in time ,then had a jog which was fun then trying to remember things to answer the questions about what I had seen on my jog. Cycling was also fun which was a bit harder going up hills and I found to be so much better than Wii Sports Resort cycling. Advance obstacle was slightly challenging with the ice which will need some more practice to complete. Then a very unbalanced juggle which im not sure I will ever master. The last game that was the most knackering for me after all that was the Flying chicken game. Begginer was fine, but the adavance level was so hard. I thought I was doing well and just about to fly up to the air ship to complete then I noticed more platforms on the other side of the island. I was flapping like crazy, but just could get to the next in time so I think some planning is required to complete this one. Wiifit plus is such an improvement over Wiifit and its nice to see that the balance games are more challenging that give you a workout too. |

Incidentally, I've heard there's going to be a new version of EA Sports Active out later this month so perhaps it's best waiting as it seems to contain all the original exercises plus extra content.... I guess they're trying to compete with Wii Fit Plus.

The new EA Active game is a completely new game from what I have read - it is similar to the old one in layout but it is full of 35+ new exercises. It also has a 6 week challenge instead of the 30 day one.

I used to have Wii Fit and used it daily before losing interest. It's decent but not exactly strenuous, but I found it's very good for poise, balance and the general stretch exercises.
As a complement to regular exercise it's good, but not really as a sole source. |

I have used it 3 or 4 times a week since last Christmas & have lost nearly 3 stone, i got the Wii fit plus last week to try new things but have just gone back to what i did on the original
![]() 30 minutes jogging, 6 minutes hula hooping & a step plus each time. I listen to music whilst doing the jogging though as the Island lap gets a bit boring after 300 goes

I have felt like this since Wednesday, when I re-started my 30 days, however today I am perfectly fine!It hurts like a bitch at the start but that is just your body getting used to real, physical exercise! It will really pay off if you continue with it! |
