I'd love to dance around the flames, if I lived closer.

Before all the Katie haters jump in and start it says:-

"I hope she takes it in good faith. We are only doing this for the fun of it. We are not doing it because we don't like the lady or anything like that."

So they arent using her as a guy because they dont like her.

I don't believe them! No-one would burn an effigy of someone who was loved and popular.

True :

Quote:
A different type of effigy is used in some religious rituals to represent an undesired person or spirit. The effigy is burned as a sign of the participants' shared intent to banish the represented element from their lives. The best known British example is the burning of an effigy made of straw and/or old clothing depicting the 17th century Catholic conspirator, Guy Fawkes.

I don't believe they like her - after all:

Quote:
Last year's celebrity guy depicted Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand. Other past effigies have included Cherie Blair, racing pundit John McCririck, Saddam Hussein and politicians John Prescott and Edwina Currie.
None of the people in bold are known for being well loved or liked!

I think that was a wee bit tongue in cheek, last years effigies were Jonathon Ross and Russell Brand after they humiliated Andrew Sachs

To be honest, I think that is pretty spiteful. I wouldn't be happy to hear that an effigy of me was going to be burned. She's split up with her husband for goodness sake, whats the problem?!

Makes me wonder what goes on in some people's heads.... very sad.

I think it's pretty spiteful of the Lewes Bonfire Society to burn an effigy of the Pope every year and carry banners saying 'No Popery' in memory of Protestants burned at the stake over 400 years ago, but perhaps that's just me....

As if. You're not going to burn an effigy of someone you like. That'd be like me making an effigy of Boy George or Simon Cowell and shoving them on the bonfire, how ridiculous, as if that would ever happen. Nope, they clearly loathe her and know a lot of other people do too. She'll be a popular effigy no doubt.

Where I live (Belfast) they still burn effigies of the Pope. And he's loved and popular, isn't he?

Not by N.I Protestants.

Over a billion Roman Catholics seem to think he's OK.

I could have laughed when he claimed that he hoped Katie would take it with a good sense of humour. I find it very convenient that out of all the celebrities he could have chosen, he chose Katie who's been in the tabloids and gave interviews whilst slagging people off. I also find it very coincidental that she's not exactly liked a lot at the moment. He also mentioned publicity for himself at the end, which means that he chose her specifically to attract loads of people so they could vent their hate towards her efigy. He claimed he built this with no malicious intent. Yeah, right. Who the hell does he think he's kidding? He obviously couldn't say on camera what his real intent was, but when you think about it, it's obvious why he specifically chose her for.........which he did.

This would indicate that they hated him. If they go to Church, they are complete hypocrites.
