Why would a dad release this? It's pretty awful. Apparently it's only the first of many...

i do. i've always quite liked her, not sure y though. at first her & Sam seemed to be good together. Lindsay obviously has issues personally & her family don't seem to be helping her overcome her demons. will never understand y her father thinks its a good idea to bring all her problems into the public arena but i guess he's hoping that it will shock her into getting help. she needs counselling on every level.

The think with Lindsay is really the only thing she managed to do was get caught up in the whole Hollywood scene (which many child turned adult actors do), she doesn't deserve most of the flak she gets (which is mostly from that site this link comes from). She undoubtedly has so many problems but really these should not be public, if her family want to help then they should help her, not create more problems for her.

I feel very sorry for her, yes. She has absolutely no support network which must be terribly lonely. Her parents will sell her out at the drop of a hat and now seem to be insisting on continuing this with Lindsay's younger sister.

I don't believe for a second her father is doing this to get Lindsay to seek help. He is completely fame hungry and will do anything to keep his name in the tabloids. He's sickening.

I don't know about this. I'm not sure if her father is doing this with good intentions or not, or if he is, whether it's the right thing to do. Maybe he feels it will shock her into seeing how bad things have got.

I always liked Lindsay. I hope she can get herself sorted out one way or another.

Yeah, very sorry for her - she was a talented actress with potentially a great career in front of her, now she just seems completely lost and in a downward spiral that's not going to end well.

And no, I don't think her father's motives for releasing the tape were in any way motivated for any other reasons than self publicity

I do. She used to be a decent actress in her The Parent Trap, Mean Girls, days and it's really sad to see whats become of her and how she's no more than a Hollywood joke now.

Her parents, and the industry, have failed her miserably.

Yep. Her apologies for parents have pimped her out since she was a kid. I used not feel sorry for her but once her parents - and her mother is just as bad as her father - started yapping to the press every five seconds, it was very clear why she's so effed-up.

With this pair of jackals for parents, she never really stood a chance.

I watched a few episodes of Living Lohan and the way her mother tells her 14 year old to go into the big bad world of hollyweird is awful. She must have done worse to Lindsay considering she was actually succesfull and going somewhere.

I might get shot down for this but I saw her on Ellen and she does seem like a really nice girl.

I think it's sad, she will probably never have a successful career again (although stranger things have happened) she's just one of those people who is just in the press for no reason half the time.

I do. She was pushed from a very young age by the very people condemning her now. Her family sound like real money grabbing pigs and she is probably well out of it. On the other hand I do wish someone would take her under their wing and give her a little help and support before her life disintegrates. Someone who doesn't want anything from her I should add.

Playing devil's advocate here, but it occurred to me that maybe her father is doing this because he cares what people think of his daughter.

There have been so many negative media stories about her that he maybe thought that by showing this sadness of Linsay that the public would be on her side. It seems to have worked as we are all now feeling for her.
